Amazing - La Fortuna falls is an amazing experience you cannot miss. You take a path in jungle before arrive to falls. Path is safe with outstanding view. Raincoat is absolutely necessary because even the dry period rains quite often. At the end of the path waterfalls are amazing.

Straightforward... - Straightforward pre-purchasing of a mandatory ticket though there was no line when we went. Waterfall was beautiful but understandably closed for swimming due to heavy rain.

Roaring Good Time in the Roar of the Waterfall - This waterfall was so fun to visit! Pulling-up there was a parking lot with buses and a "strip mall" of shops and office, which did not give a good first impression. But, the 500 steps down (then back-up) were beautiful. The roar of the waterfall was fantastic. What a treat to swim in a jungle waterfall. Of note, it was not crowded on our visit. I didn't need advance or "skip the line" tickets, and it was easy to swim in the waterfall's plunge pool. I could imagine it getting busy and being less enjoyable - so plan your timing well. And, finally, visit before they install the planned gondola to the bottom.

Waterfall on a Rainy Day? Yes! - Because of heavy rainfall that day, there were no crowds. We did not get to swim because of the dangerous current that day, but we have no regrets for including this must see waterfall! We enjoyed both the descent and the ascent, taking in the beauty of the rain forest in the pouring rain. Afterwards we retrieved our dry clothes from our rental locker and enjoyed a lunch at their cafe. After lunch we visited the gift shop, walked through the flower garden and finished the day with a cup of fresh pour over coffee at the cafe. The staff was friendly and helpful. The climb is challenging at moments but stops to catch your breath are no problem. Handrails throughout helped it feel safe, especially with so much rain.

Amazing! - Amazing views … loved getting into the water! Very safe … excellent safety personnel. I strongly recommend. That said there’s a lot of steps (maybe 500) so if you have health and/or obesity issues … maybe not for you. But my gawd it is beautiful!

Beautiful waterfall! - This waterfall was amazing! The people here were nice and helpful, the food was great and the waterfall was beautiful! You can swim in the waterfall and a small part of the river. Keep in mind though that there are 500 steps down to the waterfall that you have to trek but its not too terrible. Your calfs will be pretty sore for the next few days! There are also some nice gift shops here too.

Rainforest waterfall - A long and cascading waterfall awaits you after 500 steps down. You can see glimpses along the way but can’t appreciate its true beauty until you are at the bottom. You can bring your bathing suit and swim in the pool if the water level is not too high (which it was on our day there).

Do Not Skip! - We almost skipped this because we were worried about the hike with our two toddlers (ages 2 and 4), but I am so glad we didn't! It was a true family adventure. The stairs are a workout, especially on the way back up, but the waterfall at the bottom is spectacular and worth every step. The main pool is beautiful, but the rocks are very slippery and sharp, so be careful. Our kids actually loved the calmer water area away from the falls where they could see the fish. Crucial tip for parents: There are no facilities once you start the descent, so make sure everyone uses the restroom at the top! It felt so refreshing to get in the water after the hike down. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

Waterfall Visit - Awesome experience, so beautiful, this is a must do if you are in the area. We went early based on the reviews (8 am), and were happy we did because the first 30 min were very quiet, swam and sat in water or on rocks with no crowds. Soon alot of people showed up and it was a much different experience. Highly suggest following the suggestions of going late or early.
