- Pure Trek Canyoning - We’ll pick you up from your hotel and whisk you off to our gorgeous rainforest canyon, about 20 minutes from La Fortuna. On the way you’ll transfer to 4x4 trucks for an exciting, short drive to our remote ranch house. Your professional guides will gear you up and provide safety instructions before a morning of excitement and exhilaration! You’ll be lead through the canyon, rappelling down tropical waterfalls, rock climbing, and participating in a Monkey drop (zip line & rappel). After a short hike out of the canyon, you’ll be picked up and driven about 45 minutes to the famous Balsa River for 2 hours of thrilling white water rafting. On this class 2-3 river you’ll experience a good mix of exciting rapids and rainforest exploration. Half way through the adventure, you’ll stop for some drinks and snacks and have a chance to go for a swim in a calm river pool. This is a great combo of adrenaline, fun, nature and adventure!

On this combined tour, you’ll get to enjoy two of La Fortuna’s most thrilling activities - Pure Trek Canyoning & White Water Rafting!
Your adventure begins in the Pure Trek canyon, where you’ll be abseiling down lush, tropical waterfalls, rock climbing, hiking, and enjoying a Monkey drop (a combination of zip lining & rappelling). Following your canyoning experience, you’ll have a brief refreshment break before moving on to the Balsa River for some thrilling white water rafting. The river provides an ideal balance of nature spotting and adrenaline-fuelled excitement. Post rafting, you’ll visit a local restaurant to savor a scrumptious meal prepared in Costa Rican style.

This is a must do adventure with Pure Trek! - This experience took us out of our comfort zone and we were thrilled we didn’t back down. We are a couple in our 60’s and were nervous but all that worry was unnecessary. The organization of the day, the expert guides and the safety instructions and equipment erased all our fears. The canyoning was great fun. What a thrill! Mayron, I’m sorry we missed connecting with you at the end of the canyoning experience to thank you properly. You are wonderful. After a snack and transfer to the river, the white water adventure began and it was a blast. We laughed lots. Between the rapids and the laughs we enjoyed Andy pointing out wildlife and sharing information on the area. Thank you Andy for your expert guiding and for creating great memories for us. Afterwards, the Costa Rican lunch and local coffee filled our belly and then we enjoyed the sugar cane demo. Thank you for an outstanding day!

Very fun and exciting adventure! - Both adventures were so much fun! Slightly scary, but 100% worth it. The canyoning was both fun and beautiful. The rafting was exciting, and we felt very safe with our guide, Christopher. We saw some beautiful wildlife along the way and stopped to have delicious fruit. Would highly recommend this adventurous, fun day!

Fun day in the canyons and on the river - We actually booked the wrong tour; we wanted to do the Rainforest Falls tour, but this one was great fun. Guides were very professional, and the equipment was well-maintained and checked. For the rafting, our guide Pablo was awesome and extremely knowledgeable about wildlife, which we saw lots of on the river. The lunch was later in the day and was at a private area not open to the public, and the food was really good.

Unforgettable and Amazing Canyoning Experience - This was such an amazing tour company to book with! After doing extensive research, we went with Pure Trek for our canyoning adventure and I’m so happy we did!
The team of guides consisted of Jorge, Jonathan, Ronny, Myron, and Nelson (also the photographer) and they were all excellent and so kind! It was my first time doing something like this and they were all so very helpful. They teach you the basics and are super supportive when it comes to your turn. They were even so kind as to carry my bag for me (tip: leave your things at the base camp locker).
The experience included 5 waterfalls to rappel down, one of them being the monkey drop. Each of them were so fun, and I’m so happy that they took our pictures to keep as souvenirs of our time with them. The pictures are also excellent quality!
I would definitely recommend Pure Trek as a tour for families and anyone that wants to try canyoning. They even mentioned they have more advanced courses for those who are more adventurous. It was one of the highlights of my trip for sure.

This tour has everything! - I LOVED this tour. It included a morning of waterfall rappelling with friendly guides, a snack break, transportation to the Balsa River, rafting on the river, a delicious lunch, and a taste test of Costa Rican coffee and moonshine. This tour had everything. And the guides were wonderful. Thank you Jorge, Jonathan, Mayron, Ronnie from Pure Trek for a great experience and Jairo from Wave expeditions for a wonderful time. And a big shoutout to Nelson the photographer at Pure Trek for fantastic photos and videos!

A must do day of excitement - This was one wild adventure from beginning to end! The guides were EXCELLENT! The rappelling was fabulous and an adrenaline rush! We’re 50 years old and more than capable of this half day adventure. Then we went rafting on the class 2/3+ river. That was insane. The rapids were nothing I’ve seen before. They were roaring and flowing like crazy. It was a full day of excitement. But boy were we exhausted after! A must do for all ages!

Pure trek canyoning and white water rafting - I cannot recommend this trip ENOUGH. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Not only were the staff amazing, so kind and so funny but they did everything to make us feel safe. The lunch that was included was phenomenal and I would love to go back!!
