- Pure Trek Canyoning - We’ll pick you up from your hotel and whisk you off to our gorgeous rainforest canyon, about 20 minutes from La Fortuna. On the way you’ll transfer to 4x4 trucks for an exciting, short drive to our remote ranch house. Your professional guides will gear you up and provide safety instructions before a morning of excitement and exhilaration! You’ll be lead through the canyon, rappelling down tropical waterfalls, rock climbing, and participating in a Monkey drop (zip line & rappel). After a short hike out of the canyon, you’ll be picked up and driven about 45 minutes to the famous Balsa River for 2 hours of thrilling white water rafting. On this class 2-3 river you’ll experience a good mix of exciting rapids and rainforest exploration. Half way through the adventure, you’ll stop for some drinks and snacks and have a chance to go for a swim in a calm river pool. This is a great combo of adrenaline, fun, nature and adventure!

On this combined tour, you’ll get to enjoy two of La Fortuna’s most thrilling activities - Pure Trek Canyoning & White Water Rafting!
Your adventure begins in the Pure Trek canyon, where you’ll be abseiling down lush, tropical waterfalls, rock climbing, hiking, and enjoying a Monkey drop (a combination of zip lining & rappelling). Following your canyoning experience, you’ll have a brief refreshment break before moving on to the Balsa River for some thrilling white water rafting. The river provides an ideal balance of nature spotting and adrenaline-fuelled excitement. Post rafting, you’ll visit a local restaurant to savor a scrumptious meal prepared in Costa Rican style.

Fun Day In La Fortuna - These outfits are well oiled machines. The canyoning and rafting were run by different companies - both were fantastic with super professional and experienced guides. The entire day was run efficiently. Even with different groups on different tour combos, the guides seemed to have everything together and organized.
The canyoning experience offered a variety of rappels and felt both fun and also chill. The water rafting was our favorite portion of the tour though. The Balsa river offers a fun combo of thrilling rapids (was great for our first timer kids who are 8 and 10) and more relaxed sections where our guide was able to spot animals along the way.

Family Fun & Adventure - We had a great time on this tour ! We spent the morning canyoning and then the afternoon rafting. Canyoning: The guides were helpful, knowledgeable, patient and made sure everyone was safe! They also provided really great photos for a fee. A really fun experience! Rafting: This was incredible. Guides were so helpful and were so much fun to be around while also making everyone feel safe. The whole day was from 6:45-4:30 pm. All in all, the day was a great and memorable. All in all, would recommend for anyone seeking adventure and ready for a long, fun day!

Amazing overall experience. So fun, safe and great guides. - We had so much fun on both these tours. I was worried it would be too much in one day but it wasn’t. (Even with 6 kids) Carlos was our white water rafting guide and he was great. Very personable. We felt safe and had lots of fun. Loved being able to jump out of the boat and swim in calm areas. All the guides were so friendly and got along, seemed like a big family. The lunch after the rafting was amazing. One of the best meals we had our entire trip. Very organized and timely.
We all would have liked to do the jumps more than once on the canyoning, kind of thought we would be able to, but time only allowed one jump.
The pictures from both activities were very reasonably priced and we got them that day!

Don’t miss this Costa Rica Experience! - This was such an exhilarating experience in the jungle. We started our day with Canyoning in the jungle and spent the afternoon whitewater rafting! Pure Trek did an amazing job making us comfortable and had all safety measures in place for canyoning with detailed safety instructions. We had two families with kids age 15-10 and it was our favorite day of the week long trip! Buy the photo package because you will want these memories recorded. A healthy and filling lunch was served between canyoning and white water rafting. It is about an hour bus ride to the rafting site but guides make the drive educational. We even pulled over to see a sloth. Plan to get wet with both activities and good change of clothes after white water rafting!

Thrilling two adventure day in La Fortuna! - Funnest day we had in La Fortuna. Both Canyoning (waterfall rappelling) and white water rafting was a blast! Very fun and highly recommended. Both were really safe with no experience needed.

Just book it! - So fun and better than I expected! Highly recommend the Canyoning & White Water Rafting combo! The rappelling was so cool, guides were knowledgeable and experienced. The rafting with Wave afterwards on the Balsa had so many
rapids! After canyoning we were given snacks (water, granola bar, banana, peanuts) before we were dropped off at Wave HQ. Highly recommend!

Such an awesome experience! - We had an amazing time! We took our almost 10 and 7.5 year old waterfall rappelling and could not recommend this more highly. Super safe, well organized, and FUN!

Fun fun fun! - The guides were friendly, experienced and made sure you felt safe. I have never done canyoning before and suffer from vertigo… but not once did I worry, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
Whitewater rafting was brilliant too… the guides knew the water well. And even on the more tranquil sections would point out wildlife…we saw so many different animals and birds it was amazing!
I had a perfect day!

This is a must do adventure with Pure Trek! - This experience took us out of our comfort zone and we were thrilled we didn’t back down. We are a couple in our 60’s and were nervous but all that worry was unnecessary. The organization of the day, the expert guides and the safety instructions and equipment erased all our fears. The canyoning was great fun. What a thrill! Mayron, I’m sorry we missed connecting with you at the end of the canyoning experience to thank you properly. You are wonderful. After a snack and transfer to the river, the white water adventure began and it was a blast. We laughed lots. Between the rapids and the laughs we enjoyed Andy pointing out wildlife and sharing information on the area. Thank you Andy for your expert guiding and for creating great memories for us. Afterwards, the Costa Rican lunch and local coffee filled our belly and then we enjoyed the sugar cane demo. Thank you for an outstanding day!
