Bishkek - Kyzart - Kilemche Valley
Kyzart - Travel independently to Kyzart village and meet the guide at the local guesthouse. A warm welcome awaits from a Kyrgyz family who will serve lunch before the journey begins.
Following the meal, a brief riding lesson is provided, covering how to sit, stop, and guide the horse. No prior horse riding experience is necessary.
Kilemche - The adventure starts with a ride through open valleys and mountain pastures, gradually ascending into the jailoo — the highland summer pastures used by Kyrgyz shepherds for generations. After approximately 3–4 hours of riding, you reach Kilemche for an overnight stay.
Accommodation is in a traditional shepherd’s house — simple, genuine, and a world away from city life. Dinner is served here.
Kilemche - Jalgyz Karagoi Pass - Song Kul Lake
Kilemche - After breakfast, the journey continues towards Song Kul Lake. This is the longest day of the trek. The trail steadily climbs to the Jalgyz Karagai Pass at 3,400 meters above sea level. Some parts of the ascent may be challenging, but the panoramic views of the alpine landscape expand with each passing hour.
Song Kol Lake - From the pass’s summit, Song Kul is visible for the first time — a vast alpine lake encircled by open grasslands where local nomadic families spend the summer with their livestock. The descent leads to the yurt camp by early afternoon, allowing the rest of the day to be spent walking by the lake, resting, or simply enjoying the serene surroundings.
Facilities at the camp are basic yet comfortable for such a remote location. Dinner is served in the yurt, and on clear nights, the stars above Song Kul are truly unforgettable.
Song Kul Lake - Kara Kiya Pass - Kyzart - Bishkek
Song Kol Lake - Early mornings at Song Kul are tranquil and serene, with mist over the water and horses grazing in the nearby pastures. After breakfast, the final ride begins.
The return journey follows a different trail, crossing the Kara-Kiya Pass at about 3,400 meters before descending back towards Kyzart village. This loop route offers fresh scenery and new views instead of retracing the same path.
Kyzart - After approximately 4 hours on horseback, the trek concludes back at the family guesthouse in Kyzart, where a final lunch is served before departure.
