  Situated in the heart of Gion, just steps away from Yasaka Shrine and within walking distance to Kiyomizu-dera, this is the ideal starting point for a Kyoto stroll. Nestled in a traditional townhouse on a narrow, pedestrian-only alley, you’ll notice a white fabric curtain (Noren) at the entrance. Upon entering, kindly provide your name to the receptionist.

  Experience a traditional townhouse tea ceremony near Nishiki Market, offering a perfect cultural break for food enthusiasts and shoppers in central Kyoto. Enter the traditional Japanese townhouse “Nishiki Orizuruya,” where a large sign and our green “Japan Wonder Travel” board mark the entrance. Once inside, please provide your name to the receptionist.
• Kyoto - You will be guided to the dressing room to select your favorite kimono to wear. (ONLY at Nishiki Market Location: Enjoy exploring the city in your kimono until 6:00 PM on the same day!)
• Delight in watching a tea ceremony demonstration by an English-speaking tea master, followed by learning how to make your own Matcha. Enjoy your Matcha with sweets.
• Our professional photographer will capture 3 memorable photos of you.
• As a souvenir, 3 photos will be sent to you digitally via email after the experience.

During this cultural journey, participants will fully immerse themselves in the experience of wearing a traditional Japanese kimono and participating in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. A friendly, English-speaking tea master will guide them through the intricacies of the tea ceremony in a relaxed setting.
Cherished moments will be captured by a professional photographer, and participants will receive three digital photos as a keepsake of their experience.

Itinerary:
■ 10:00/14:00 Arrival at the venue
■ 10:15/14:15 Change into a kimono and enter the tea room. Observe the tea ceremony demonstration in English.
■ Participants will prepare their own Matcha green tea and enjoy it with Japanese sweets.
■ 11:45/15:45 Conclude the experience

• To prepare a set of Kimono for you, we need to know heights and gender of all the participants in advance.
• If you have any food allergies, please let us know in advance.
• If you are later than 15 minutes from the starting time, you are NOT allowed to join this experience and NO refund is available in such case.
• Services not listed (For example : Hotel pickup and drop-off, Transportation to/from attractions, Extra food and drink, Other personal expenses) are not included in the tour.
• There are two different venues. Please make sure to go to the location you booked for.
