Nijo castle - great tout - Naoya was an amazing guide. He was informative and friendly. We had lots of fun. The gardens are beautiful and include unique features

Brilliant tour with Nao. - I was lucky enough to end up getting a solo tour with Nao this afternoon. I had a wonderful time exploring the castle, learning about its history and the history of Japan at a comfortable place with plenty of opportunity for photos. Nao was a brilliant guide, with great English and strong storytelling skills. Would highly recommend.

Amazing tour of Nijo castle. - Our tour guide Nao was amazing. Gave great knowledge of the castle and it's history. Also gave good resteraunt and bar recommendations. Would recommend.

Great time touring the castle - Awesome best tour guide in Kyoto. Very educational and a great time talking with Nanao. If we ever were to do another tour of the castle we’d go with him.

A wonderful visit to Nijo Castle - Nijo Castle is beautiful and historically significant. The guide was knowledgeable and proficient in English so I was able to learn a lot. Being there in the fall when the color of the leaves was changing made for some beautiful photos.. Highly recommend this tour.

An excellent touring experience that is informative and easy to understand - Naoya-san s was very knowledgeable about the building’s history - including useful context for the individual rooms, how they were used, and who would use them. Likewise, his English was perfect and it was very easy to communicate with him throughout the tour. For an added bonus, ask him about his (very cute) cats 😊

Nice quick tour of Nijo Castle - Nao was a wonderful guide. We learned a lot about Japanese history in a short period of time. It was great to get context for what we were looking at. I would have been lost without it. Lovely tour.

Nijo Castle with Nao is a Great History Lesson - Nao was a great and knowledgeable host for our trip and gave us wonderful insights about the Nijo Castle. The address listed for the tour was off slightly but just make sure you meet the team at the entrance of the train station at platform 1 across the street from the cancel.

Nao is an awesome guide! - We loved this walking tour. Our guide Nao was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of interesting facts that we would have never known if we just visited on our own. The grounds outside of the castle were beautiful, with the gates, watch towers, buildings, and garden area. But, the inside was beyond what we expected to see. The detail in the paintings, metal work above the walls, and ceilings was impressive to say the least. The “chirping” of the nightingale floors is something that you have to experience to really understand. We would highly recommend taking the guided tour for all of the extra information that would be hard to get unless you did research ahead of time, AND can remember those details.

History tour - Very nice and informative guide. The guide introduced us to the era of the Shoguns, the politics, architecture and art of this period through the artifacts in the Nijo castle.
