A Beautiful Day through Kyoto and Uji - A great time with Cave seeing Kyoto and Uji. We had a wonderful time on our tour seeing the Golden Pavilion, the main temple in Kyoto and through the small town in Uji. Cave gave great tips and we had a wonderful time on the tour.

Short on time? Do this tour - This is a good way to see popular parts of Kyoto and Uji in a short amount of time. The transportation was comfortable and our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We stopped at two cities and three main attractions, which was more than enough. You’re on your own at the sites, which I really liked. It is a long day, so plan accordingly. The spots you visit are major tourist destinations, so keep that in mind as well.

Since we only had one day... - Since we only had one day to visit Kyoto this tour was perfect for us. We got to see a lot more in one day than we would have on our own. We also liked the fact that we were given plenty of time at each destination to explore on our own.

Kyoto Matcha Tour - 11/24/25 Awesome slow paced Kyoto tour. Highlight for me is the Matcha street. Lots of nice and authentic matcha shops! Naomi our guide is very informative, helpful and caring. She made sure everyone in the group understood the instructions and tour details. It’s amazing that she can speak 3 languages. #1 tour guide by far!

Decent, but painful - Tour guide (John) spoke in three languages - English, Mandarin and Japanese. He was insightful and clearly explained meeting check-in/return times. He provided meet up details and area maps via WhatsApp. The so-so: the bus driver did not turn on heat and broke hard during the commute. Most people had to keep their jackets on. Each stop required admission fees that were not included in the package. Lastly, one of our family members fell and got badly bruised because there was no warning of low clearance obstacles in the walking path. The tour guide was empathetic and helpful, but this could have been avoided if he had slowed down in moving the tight packs of tourist/clients and warned us of the low obstacles instead of walking us directly over them. Our tour guide mentioned that other tour groups experienced similar falls and that we were not the only ones to have gotten injured. More reason for the tour guide to slow down the walking pace. One guide for a 40+ group of clients is unreasonable, but cannot blame the tour guide on company policy. Overall got to see some wonderful sights but the injury put a damper on this tour experience
