- Kennin-ji Temple - Established in 1202 AD, Kennin-ji is recognized as Kyoto’s oldest Zen temple. Zen Master Eisai, credited with introducing Zen to Japan, was the founding chief priest and is interred on the temple grounds.

The leisurely walk continues to Kodaiji Temple, constructed in 1606 by Nene, the wife of Hideyoshi, in honor of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a prominent figure in Japanese history.
- Kiyomizu-dera Temple - The tour concludes at Kiyomizu Temple, named after the waterfall within the complex that flows from a nearby hill. “Shimizu” translates to clear or pure water. Founded in 778 during the late Nara period by the monk Enchin Shonin from Nara, many of the existing temple structures were built in 1633 under the orders of Tokugawa Iemitsu.
