Explore Kyoto without the crowds - The bike tour through Kyoto was an enjoyable way to spend the morning. We rode through the city’s streets, visiting various Shinto and Buddhist temples. Many of these sites are hidden gems, offering a peaceful experience away from crowds. Our guide, Utah, provided insightful context and background information about each site we visited. The e-bikes made the journey easier, especially on steep inclines, accommodating cyclists of all fitness levels. Throughout the cycling segments, Utah ensured everyone’s safety and helped them stay on track. Overall, the tour was a fantastic way to explore Kyoto’s lesser-known attractions and escape the crowds at the most popular tourist spots. To conclude the tour, Utah kindly offered lunch recommendations for everyone.

Fun way to spend the morning - Very nice equipment. Michael was a good guide in terms of biking and historical information. He provided interesting and engaging details, post tour lunch recommendations, and an email outlining what we had seen! I hadn’t been on a bike in decades, and he put me at ease.

A great way to see Kyoto! - This was my husband and I's favorite activity during our two week trip to Japan! Our guide, Sean, led us on a wonderful tour to several shrines and temples we would not have seen otherwise. He was super knowledgeable and we learned so many cool facts and history. We also loved the stop at the oldest sweets shop in the world to try traditional mochi! We did the 9am tour and the sites were all very quiet and most of the streets we biked on were empty. The bikes were very nice and made it easy to go up hills since they were electric. There was no basket on the bikes, which was fine for us, but just a heads up you will have to carry any bags you bring. Sean also gave us great recommendations for lunch after the tour. We would recommend this tour to everyone!

Great way to get away from the crowds - My husband and I did the 9:00 tour and it exceeded our expectations. Our guide Sean was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the history of every shrine and temple we visited. We learned a lot during the tour! I was nervous going in, having never ridden an ebike before, but it was easy to learn the few buttons needed. If you can ride a bike, you can do this. There were definitely some hills — both up and down — but they were totally manageable thanks to the push from the bike. I am not a cycling expert by any means and I appreciated that no one rushed me on the descents. I was encouraged to take them at my own pace, which made me more comfortable with the ride. This ride is both on and off the beaten path & you’ll definitely see things you’d never see on your own! They even treated us to a tea house for some delicious snacks & tea!! Highly recommend!

Fun and informative biking tour in Kyoto! - This biking tour was so much fun. Biking Kyoto was very friendly as someone who is pretty new to biking on main roads/city biking. The routes we took along the way were a mix of neighborhoods and we also passed a resort near a forest and a little stream, just lovely! Really enjoyed visiting the Buddhist Temples and Shinto shrines. It was very interesting to learn about them from Micheal's perspective. I could definitely sense an interest and respect for both from him! I also enjoyed hearing about his experiences in Japan!

Great biking tour to see some out of the way and some highlights of Kyoyo - This company was nice to work with, good communication, and made it happen even when we were having trouble with transportation getting there (our own fault). The guide was knowledgeable and guided us through some beautiful sites. Would highly recommend!

Interesting and informative with plenty to see - An excellent way to see Kyoto off the beaten track! The temples we went to where so quiet and peaceful, it gave us plenty of time to learn about Buddhism and Shintoism. Our guide Yuta was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about telling us all about his love for Kyoto and the history of these sites. We covered a large area with ease and even got up into the hillside and rode amongst the trees- it was so beautiful. Thank you!
