- Eilean Donan Castle - The first stop is at the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, known globally for its appearances in numerous films and countless Scottish souvenirs! The tour will pause at a favorite vantage point for photos and to admire the majestic beauty of this iconic site in its stunning coastal setting. Please note that visiting the castle is not possible.
- Portree - Upon arrival in Portree, head to the harbor viewpoint for views of pastel-colored houses and a sweeping bay. Explore quirky local shops, cozy cafés, and harborfront lanes; 45 minutes here will pass quickly. Feeling hungry? Enjoy a freshly baked lunch or a delicious takeaway to refuel like a local. (If lunch was pre-booked in the morning, it will be collected here and delivered on the mini-coach, saving valuable sightseeing time).
- Kilt Rock - Kilt Rock is a striking sea cliff resembling a traditional Highland kilt, always impressing visitors. It features a waterfall that plunges 60ft (180m) into the Sound of Raasay below—a truly unique sight, especially when the wind blows the waterfall back up the cliff!
- The Old Man of Storr - Heading north, the tour will pause at a loch-side viewpoint for a first glimpse of the Old Man of Storr—a remarkable 50-meter pinnacle rising from the dramatic Trotternish Ridge. This iconic landscape may be familiar from films such as 47 Ronin, Macbeth, Snow White and the Huntsman, Prometheus, and The BFG.
- Fairy Pools - There will be time to explore this beautiful series of pools and waterfalls. The scenic path to the first pool is gently uphill and takes about 20 minutes (0.7 miles), with the most impressive waterfall just 5 minutes further on (0.9 miles in total). Most guests linger here, with the Cuillin Mountains providing a stunning backdrop to the crystal-clear water of the pools. Regardless of the weather, there are photo opportunities at every turn! Please note: the round-trip walk is approximately 1.5 miles and takes around 40 minutes, requiring a moderate level of fitness.
- Skye Bridge - After enjoying Skye’s highlights, the tour crosses back over the bridge and turns east, weaving through mountains and storybook glens. As the scenery unfolds, the guide shares the Highlands’ darker history—the violent upheavals that emptied once-thriving communities, leaving these glens hauntingly quiet.
- Urquhart Castle - The tour concludes on a high note—literally. Overlook Urquhart Castle, dramatically perched on a peninsula extending into Loch Ness—a fitting finale after a day of breathtaking sights on Skye. Then, it’s a quick drive back to Inverness, carrying the best souvenir of all—memories of an unforgettable day on Skye.
