ride the chiatura cablecars - Interesting tour guided by a local from Chiatura. It includes several rides on (modernized) cablecars. Bring good shoes.

Tour offered religious, historical and Georgian small town-vibes - I would totally recommend this tour!! It offered insights into life in a Georgian small town. Generally, a great mixture of exploring (old) religious places like Mghvimevi Cave Monastery and of course the famous Katskhi Pillar as well as the town of Chiatura - which more than 50% of its residents left since the 1990s - with the old Soviet cable car station, the museum and some great insights by the local guide.

Very special day - Visiting the town of Chiatura with a really friendly guide actually from the town gave the town even more character and has made a lasting impression! Great to travel in the cable cars and wander through Chiatura’s history. The rock cave churches were an absolute spectacle - very very cool - and the monk’s pillar was also so unique - only issue was I wanted to climb up (which is not allowed for very obvious reasons 😅)
