• Sri Shakti Temple - Sri Shakti Temple is unique as it is the only temple globally where all 51 Shaktis are represented. The temple features 96 intricately carved pillars symbolizing the 96 universal principles of Hinduism. Surrounded by an impressive decorative wall, the entrance is marked by a grand Raja Gopuram (multi-tiered tower). Standing at 74 feet tall, the 5-tiered Raja Gopuram showcases the architectural marvels within.

The temple’s main entrance is adorned with 18-foot high sculptured granite frames, each weighing up to 4 tonnes, crafted by expert artisans from the historic city of Mahabalipuram in Tamilnadu, India.

• Altingsburg Lighthouse - Situated at the highest point of Bukit Melawati, the lighthouse offers breathtaking views of the Straits of Malacca. Constructed in 1907, it has been aiding navigation since 1910. Its strategic location also made it a key point for monitoring the Strait of Malacca. Named after a Dutch General, it was extensively used during the British colonial era.
• Bukit Melawati - This historic fort was built in the late 18th century under the rule of the second Sultan of Selangor and later succumbed to Dutch artillery. The site retains its original foundation stones, cannons, and a legendary execution block. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the coastline from the hill.

Bukit Melawati is also home to Silver-Leafed Monkeys and Long-Tailed Macaques. Peanuts can be purchased from local vendors to feed the monkeys. While Silver-Leafed Monkeys are generally gentle, caution is advised with Long-Tailed Macaques as they can be quite mischievous. Visitors should be careful when feeding them as they are wild animals and can be dangerous if provoked.

• Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park - Kuala Selangor, a quaint coastal village northwest of Kuala Lumpur, is famous for its attraction along the Selangor River. Here, visitors can witness the renowned fireflies (Kelip-Kelip in Bahasa Melayu) during the evenings. These fireflies inhabit the mangrove tree species known as berembang, forming one of the largest firefly colonies in the world.

Fireflies, also called ‘Lightning Bugs,’ emit a bright glow at night to attract mates. Although they can shine during the day, it is not visible to humans. They are seen at night among the ‘Berembang’ trees along the Selangor River. Their synchronized flashing resembles the twinkling lights of a Christmas tree. A nighttime trip along the Selangor River banks is truly magnificent and a must-see attraction.
