The firefly is an insect that belongs to the beetle family. Among them, the ‘Pteroptyx tener’ species is particularly abundant in Kuala Selangor, with a size of approximately 5mm. These minute creatures gather on berembang trees, a type of mangrove tree that thrives naturally in the saline waters along the banks of the Selangor River, after dark.
