• Sungai Pandan Waterfall - Besides Teluk Cempedak Beach, this stunning waterfall in Kuantan is a popular picnic destination. It offers designated areas for barbecues and camping. If swimming isn’t your preference, enjoy a leisurely walk through the ‘mystical’ forest along the jungle trail. You might even spot the largest endangered species in Asia, the tapir. Nature enthusiasts will find this an ideal spot to visit in Kuantan.
• Sungai Lembing Museum - Often referred to as the El Dorado of the East, Sungai Lembing was once a prosperous tin mining town. Located 42 kilometers from town, the Sungai Lembing Museum, established by the Museums and Antiquities Department, commemorates the town’s historic glory. Exhibits include tin mining equipment and train tracks used in the quarries.

History enthusiasts will enjoy a nostalgic ride on an antique mine cart through Sungai Lembing’s abandoned tin mines. Although the tin industry has declined, these mines hold significant historical value and have been restored for exploration.

As the train enters the dark tunnel, feel the cool breeze and the excitement as your heart races with each chug. Enveloped in mystery and tales of supernatural phenomena, the eerie tunnel is both haunting and fascinating. Fun fact: these mines extend over 300 kilometers and reach depths of 700 meters – equivalent to a 14-story building!

These old mines tell stories of the hard work and sacrifices of young men who toiled in these perilous conditions, some never seeing daylight again.

• Lao Zi Temple - Located 13 kilometers from Sungai Lembing, Lao Zi Temple is home to the reputedly ‘longest manmade dragon’. Begin your journey through the temple by entering its ‘tail’ and exiting through its ‘mouth’. Devotees believe that good fortune comes to those who complete the 2,700-foot pilgrimage through the dragon; nearly 100,000 visitors come annually to honor the founder of Taoism.
• Natural Batik Village - Batik painting offers a perfect escape for those seeking a break from city life. Enjoy a tranquil afternoon creating your own batik artwork at Kuantan Natural Batik Village. • Pantai Batu Hitam - Malaysia’s nature seems to favor black. In addition to Langkawi’s black sand beach, Kuantan boasts a black stone beach. Imagine if Malaysia had a black sea – that would be amazing. As the name suggests, this beach is covered with black pebbles scattered along the shore. It’s a fantastic spot for selfie or group photos.
• Teluk Chempedak - A famous beach in Kuantan, Teluk Cempedak is perfect for witnessing breathtaking sunrises. As the scattered light brightens the sky, it dispels darkness and worries from urban life. • Masjid Sultan Ahmad Shah - Built between 1991 and 1993, this powder-blue mosque is the east coast’s most renowned and a top tourist attraction in Kuantan. Situated beside a large football field, the mosque features Moorish architecture with exquisite designs and etchings. At night, it becomes a beautiful sight with its illuminated minarets, spires, and turrets.
• Kuantan 188 - Formerly known as Menara Teruntum, Kuantan 188 is a 188-meter tower located in the heart of Kuantan, Pahang. It is the tallest tower on the East Coast and Malaysia’s second-tallest tower, following Menara Kuala Lumpur. On February 21, 2022, Kuantan 188 was certified as an official member of the World Federation of Great Towers.
