Merdeka Square - After being picked up from the Malaysia Tourism Center (MATIC) or a centrally located hotel in Kuala Lumpur, travel in an air-conditioned minivan to the first stop of the half-day tour: Merdeka Square. Also known as Independence Square, this iconic symbol of Malaysian independence is one of the most picturesque squares globally. Admire both traditional and modern architectural masterpieces before proceeding to the King’s Palace.
Istana Negara - Known as Istana Negara, the residence of the King of Malaysia does not allow visitor access inside, but photos of the exterior and the hourly changing of the guards can be taken.
Petronas Twin Towers - The Petronas Twin Towers offer perfect photo opportunities; enjoy the city skyline and capture unforgettable moments. (photo stop only, admission not included)
KLCC Park - KLCC Park is a 50-acre garden near the Suria KLCC shopping center. Designed by Roberto Burle Marx, it provides a touch of greenery for the Petronas Twin Towers and surrounding areas. The park features a 10,000 sqm manmade lake (Lake Symphony) with a 43m bridge.
National Mosque (Masjid Negara) - Contrast the visit to these glass and steel marvels with the National Mosque (Masjid Negara), located in the city center amid lush gardens. Built in 1965, it is one of the most elegant buildings in KL, featuring a spectacular main dome covered in green and blue tiles, along with 48 smaller domes across the Mecca-inspired courtyard.
Thean Hou Temple - Next is the Chinese Thean Hou Temple. Discover the blend of influences such as Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism that create an unforgettable architectural ensemble. Explore numerous statues of animals from astrology and impressive statues of the Goddess of Mercy and the Goddess of the Waterfront.
Perdana Botanical Garden - Visit the tranquil Lake Gardens.
National Museum - The National Museum houses collections of ancient and modern art pieces, weapons, and traditional costumes.
Malayan Railway Administration Building - Admire the exquisite façade of the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station with its fairytale-like towers and mix of Eastern and Western architectural styles.
National Monument - Conclude the Kuala Lumpur City Tour at the National Monument (Tugu Negara), a bronze tribute to those who lost their lives in the fight for Malaysian independence, designed by American architect Felix de Weldon.
Malaysia Tourism Centre - Before proceeding to the Malaysia Countryside & Batu Caves tour, there will be a drop-off at the Malaysia Tourism Center for a short break. Enjoy about 90 minutes for lunch at your own expense. Nearby Pelita Nasi Kandar is recommended for its excellent flavors across a variety of Malaysian-Indian dishes. There are plenty of vegetable options; rice, naan, and potatoes for starch (and to carry the excellent curries); and chicken, fish, and possibly beef as proteins.
After 90 minutes, pick-up will be from the same spot for the Malaysia Countryside & Batu Caves Tour.
Royal Selangor Visitor Centre - Travel to the outskirts along the ‘Ambassador Row’. The first stop is at the Royal Selangor Pewter, featuring the largest and most modern pewter factory in the world, renowned internationally for its high quality and craftsmanship. The factory tour will showcase different processes, such as casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering, and engraving.
Jadi Batek Gallery - Next, visit the Batik Factory to see how Batik is designed and printed.
Batu Caves - The final stop is at the limestone hills of Batu Caves, comprising three caverns and several smaller caves. It is the shrine of Lord Murugah, a Hindu deity, with a flight of 272 steps leading up to the temple cave. Another cave, the museum cave, is filled with images of deities and murals depicting scenes from Hindu scriptures.
Closed for 3 days during the Thaipusam Festival (the day before, during, and the day after the festival).
After a day filled with Malaysian history, culture, and traditions, the tour concludes with a hotel or port drop-off in Kuala Lumpur.
Genting Highlands + Kuala Selangor Fireflies Boat Tour
Genting Highlands - At 9:30 AM, the driver will pick up guests from their hotel lobby in Kuala Lumpur city and head to Genting Highlands. Enjoy a scenic drive through the hillsides of Malaysia and see local villages along the way.
Upon arrival, stop at the Skyway Cable Car and take a ride on one of the longest and fastest gondola lifts in Southeast Asia to the summit of Genting Highlands. Experience breathtaking views and the fabulous natural scenery of the mountain and forest, as if watching the forest from the sky.
Visit the largest family attraction, Genting Highland’s indoor one-stop theme park for adults and kids, with many rides and entertainment spots, activities, and amusement rides in a cooling environment.
After a few hours enjoying the day at the top of the mountain, return via cable car to the ground, and the driver will proceed with the Kuala Selangor Fireflies Boat Tour.
Bukit Melawati - Upon arrival at Kuala Selangor, located northwest of Kuala Lumpur, see Fort Altingsburg, built by the second sultan of Selangor in the 18th century to defend the city against foreign invasion.
A bird sanctuary park is located at the foot of the fort, where migratory birds can be observed. Also found here are mysterious silvered leaf monkeys, a primate descended from the lineage of Old World monkeys.
Kuala Selangor Firefly Park - Continue the trip with a boat ride along the mangrove swamps. Witness the bioluminescent fireflies flashing and producing glimmering lights in synchronized rhythm. Follow up with a delicious freshly caught seafood dinner at a local restaurant.
There are three main jetties for firefly watching in Kuala Selangor: Kampung Kuantan, Bukit Belimbing, and Pasir Penambang. For this tour, Pasir Penambang Jetty is chosen, using a powerboat that can accommodate a small group of up to 30 passengers at one time.
