- Thean Hou Temple - Thean Hou Temple is among the oldest and largest temples in Southeast Asia. Located southwest of the city along Jalan Klang Lama, it is a popular tourist destination. Overlooking the Federal highway, this six-tiered Buddhist temple is also known as the Temple of the Goddess of Heaven.
Dedicated to Tian Hou, a goddess believed to protect fishermen, the temple also serves as a shrine for worshippers of Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. Built by Kuala Lumpur’s Hainanese community in 1894, it is situated on a hill offering stunning views of the city.
- Little India Brickfields - Little India Brickfields presents a vastly different atmosphere compared to nearby Bangsar. Once a simple residential area outside Kuala Lumpur, Brickfields is now Malaysia’s official Little India, transformed into a vibrant street with Indian shops and restaurants operated by the Indian community.
The shops offer a variety of traditional Indian items such as saris, flower garlands, spices, and Bollywood music, as well as local treats like vadai and thosai (Indian pancakes made from fermented rice flour). Since its transformation, Little India Brickfields has become a key tourist attraction in Kuala Lumpur, not only for its offerings but also for its proximity to KL Sentral station.
- Istana Negara - Istana Negara is Malaysia’s National Palace. Constructed in 1928 along Jalan Istana, the 13-acre palace was the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia. In June 2011, it was replaced by a new, lavish RM800 million palace near Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur.
Like the former palace, the RM800 million complex is not open to the public. Visitors can only admire the magnificent and grand complex from outside its entrance gates along Jalan Duta. Construction of the new palace began in mid-2007 and was completed in June 2011.
- Perdana Botanical Garden - Tun Abdul Razak Heritage Park offers a variety of fun activities and sightseeing opportunities for all visitors, from nature enthusiasts to families with children. Commonly known as Lake Gardens, this expansive 227-acre park is centrally located in Kuala Lumpur and accessible via buses, taxis, and KTM rail services. The park is open daily from 07:00 to 20:00, with certain landmarks within the grounds requiring an entrance fee.
As one of the largest urban parks in the city center, it was originally established by Alfred Venning, the 19th-century British state treasurer to Malaya, in the 1890s. Among the park’s notable landmarks is the majestic Carcosa Seri Negara, the former official residence of British government representative Frank Swettenham, situated on one of the park’s hills. Over the past 20 years, the park’s impressive landscaping has continued to evolve.
- Lake Symphony - This spectacular fountain scene features dozens of water jets in the park’s artificial lake, shooting up into the air as colorful beams of light dance through the water. The harmony of water and vibrant colors creates a dazzling and radiant display. With two fountains showcasing an intelligent water display, Symphony Lake offers five programs with 380 individually sequenced water effects reaching up to 42 meters high.
While waiting for the show to begin around 8pm, visitors can enjoy shopping at the nearby Suria KLCC, which houses over 320 high-end local and international retailers, including brands like Coach, Kate Spade, and Jimmy Choo. Be sure to return to Lake Symphony to catch the KLCC fountain water show!
- The River of Life - Conclude the night tour with a visit to The River of Life Kuala Lumpur, recently listed among the world’s top 10 Waterfront Districts by The Independent, a UK-based online news portal. Featuring a Dancing Symphony Fountain, Blue Corridor, fog, and lighting effects, visitors can expect a breathtaking visual experience at this riverfront location in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Arrive around 9pm to enjoy the show, which occurs every 15 minutes until 10pm.
