On the way to Melaka, the first stop will be a highway rest area for a short break. - Malacca - Malacca City (also spelled Melaka) is the capital of the coastal state of Malacca, in southwestern Malaysia. According to the Malay Annals, Melaka was named after a tree. Parameswara, a prince from Palembang, was out hunting when he saw a pelanduk (mouse deer) kick one of his hound dogs. Astonished by the encounter, Parameswara thought that the land would be a great place as a new site for his Malay empire.

- St. Peter’s Church - St. Peter’s Church is a church in Melaka City, Melaka. It is the oldest functioning Roman Catholic Church in Malaysia. (Year 1710)
- Bukit China (Chinese Hill) - Drive past the largest 15th Century Chinese Cemetery outside of China, located at Bukit China or Chinese Hill.
- Hang Li Po Well - Hang Li Poh’s Well, also known as King’s Well, is a historical water well in Malacca City. It is the oldest water well in Malaysia. (Locals throw coins into the well for good luck)
- Red Square (Dutch Square) - Red Square – the Salmon-Pink Dutch administrative buildings which today house the Melaka Museum and some other government offices.
- Dutch Square (Red Square) Melaka - Head to the center of the World Heritage-listed town to admire the buildings of Windmill at Dutch Square. Constructed between 1660 and 1700, the terracotta buildings showcase colonial Dutch style.
- Tan Beng Swee Clock Tower - The Tang Beng Swee Clock Tower outside the Stadthuys was given to the people of Malacca in 1886 by Mr. Tan Jiak Kim to fulfill the desires of his father, Tan Beng Swee, who was a third generation of a Chinese philanthropic millionaire family.
- Queen Victoria’s Fountain - Built in 1901 by the British. Queen Victoria’s Fountain is located in the same area as The Stadthuys Malacca and the Christ Church. It is just beside the Tan Beng Siew Clock Tower. The fountain was built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
- Stadthuys - The Stadthuys is a historical structure situated in the heart of Malacca City, Malaysia, in a place known as the Red Square. The Stadhuys is known for its red exterior and nearby red clocktower. It was built by the Dutch in 1650 as the office of the Dutch Governor and Deputy Governor.
- Christ Church - Christ Church Malacca is an 18th-century Anglican church in the city of Malacca City. It is the oldest functioning Protestant church in Malaysia and is within the jurisdiction of the Lower Central Archdeaconry of the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia.
- Church of St. Francis Xavier Melaka - This twin-spired neo-gothic structure was built on the site of an old Portuguese church by a French priest, Father Farvé, in 1856, in honor of St. Francis Xavier, a prominent 16th-century Catholic missionary also known as the ‘Apostle of the East.’
- Dutch Square (Red Square) Melaka - The site of former Malay sultanates & Portuguese Fort where the local government built a Replica on top of the original Dutch Laterite stone.
- St. Paul’s Hill & Church (Bukit St. Paul) - Saint Paul’s Church is a historic church building in Malacca City, Malaysia that was originally built in 1521, making it the oldest church building in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. It is located at the summit of St. Paul’s Hill.
- A Famosa - A Famosa is a former Portuguese fortress located in Malacca. It is among the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Southeast Asia and the Far East. The Porta de Santiago, a small gatehouse, is the only part of the fortress which still remains today.
- Chinatown Melaka - Take a stroll along Melaka’s Antique Street which ends by the banks of the Melaka River. Bustling open-air market on weekend nights with an array of food & souvenirs, plus entertainment.
- Cheng Hoon Teng Temple - Visit the ‘Abode of the Green Merciful Clouds’ or the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple – the only temple where you can find 3 major doctrines of local Chinese belief under the same roof, i.e. Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism.
- Kampung Kling Mosque - Kampong Kling Mosque is an old mosque in Malacca. The Kampung Kling Mosque is situated at Jalan Tukang Emas, also known as “Harmony Street.”
- Sri Pogyatha Vinoyagar Moorthi Temple - Sri Poyatha Moorthi Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Malaysia and one of the oldest functioning Hindu temples in Maritime Southeast Asia. The temple is situated on Jalan Tukang Emas, also known as “Harmony Street.”
