From 1998 to 2003, they held the title of the tallest buildings in the world until the completion of Taipei 101 in 2004. The Petronas Towers remain the tallest twin skyscrapers globally and were the tallest buildings in Malaysia until 2019, when The Exchange 106 surpassed them. These towers are a prominent landmark in Kuala Lumpur, alongside the nearby Kuala Lumpur Tower and Merdeka 118, and can be seen from various locations throughout the city.

- KLCC - Bukit Bintang Pedestrian Walkway - Bukit Bintang is renowned for Jalan Bukit Bintang, a bustling street featuring upscale malls and luxury fashion boutiques. Changkat Bukit Bintang street is lined with al fresco bars and live music clubs, while Jalan Alor is a vibrant strip known for its sidewalk restaurants offering Chinese dishes like clam soup and buttered prawns. Nearby, KL Forest Eco Park offers nature trails and an elevated walkway.
- Jalan Masjid India - The vibrant enclave of Little India is alive with the sounds and aromas of India. Bright bangles and trinkets sparkle from stalls, and the air is filled with the scents of sandalwood and cumin. Delicious Indian dishes are available at roadside stalls, including Indian breads like chapati and prata, as well as snacks like vadai and string hoppers. The sari shops are popular with those seeking vibrant, beautiful materials and the skilled tailors who work in the area. The Saturday night market is when this area is at its most lively, with vendors trading late into the night.
- Masjid Jamek Bandar Mersing - The mosque’s design is described as Moorish, Indo-Saracenic, or Mughal architecture. A. B. Hubback also designed several buildings in a similar style, such as the Kuala Lumpur railway station and the Ubudiah Mosque in Kuala Kangsar. The mosque features two main minarets among other smaller ones; the pink and white banding pattern of the minarets, made of brick and plaster, is often referred to as “blood and bandage.” The mosque has three domes, with the largest reaching 21.3 meters (70 ft) in height. The prayer hall is situated beneath the domes. The mosque was refurbished in 1984, and the minaret closest to the river was reinforced as it had begun to lean.
