- National Monument - Built to honor those who sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom, particularly during the fight against communism, the National Monument features one of the world’s largest free-standing bronze sculptures. It was sculpted in 1966 by Felix de Weldon, who also created the famous Iwo Jima monument in Washington, DC.
- Istana Negara - The National Palace, or Istana Negara, is the official residence of the King of Malaysia. Located on Jalan Duta, it became the National Palace in November 2011, replacing the old palace on Jalan Istana. It features 22 domes, with the largest reaching 40 meters in height. Note: Visits are limited to the exterior.
- Little India Brickfields - Originally the center of brick-making in the late 19th century after a fire and flood in 1881, Brickfields was transformed by Sir Frank Swettenham, who ordered the use of brick and tile in building construction. This area is now known for its vibrant Indian culture.
- Thean Hou Temple - Built between 1981 and 1987, Thean Hou Temple is a modern structure with a traditional ornate facade. Managed by Malaysia’s Hainanese community, it spans six tiers and reflects the heritage of sea-faring fisherfolk from Hainan, China.
- Sri Maha Mariamman Temple - This stunning Hindu temple, one of the oldest, features a magnificent 22-meter-high gate tower adorned with intricately carved images of Hindu deities. Inside, the deities of the Hindu goddess Maha Mariamman are embellished with gold and precious stones. The area is filled with the sights and sounds of peddlers selling jasmine garlands and aromatic incense.
