Setting Sail to Ephesus

As a former professional surfer, my life has always been about chasing the next wave, the next adventure. So when I found myself docked in Kuşadası during a recent cruise, I couldn’t resist the allure of exploring the ancient city of Ephesus. The promise of tracing the footsteps of historical giants like Alexander the Great and Caesar was too tempting to pass up. Ephesus itself was a marvel. Walking along the marble streets, I couldn’t help but imagine the ancient world bustling around me. The Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, and the Grand Theater were awe-inspiring, each structure telling its own story. Melih’s knowledge was impressive, and his passion for the history of Ephesus was infectious. It reminded me of the way I feel when I talk about the ocean and its mysteries.

We opted to explore the Terrace Houses, a decision I wholeheartedly recommend. A Perfect Ending

As our tour concluded, we were dropped off near the harbor, just a short walk from our cruise ship. The rain had subsided, leaving the air crisp and fresh. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of fulfillment, much like the satisfaction of a day well spent on the waves. The Ephesus excursion was a perfect blend of history, culture, and personal discovery.
