• Ancient City of Ephesus - Ephesus: This ancient city boasts many well-preserved ruins, including Roman-era streets, public buildings, and private houses. Visitors can explore and imagine life during the Roman Empire. Highlights include the Library of Celsus, the Great Theater, the Temple of Artemis, and the Terrace Houses.

The most spectacular site in Ephesus is the façade of the Library of Celsus. Built between 110 and 135 AD, the library originally had three floors, but an earthquake destroyed it in the 10th century.

Other sites include the Theater, Basilica of St. John, the Cave of the Seven Sleepers, Church of Mary, House of the Virgin, the Isabey Mosque, the Prytaneion, the synagogue, and the Temple of Hadrian. These sites are in various states of disrepair. Sadly, only one column remains of the Temple of Artemis, rumored to have been four times larger than the Parthenon.

• The Temple of Artemis - The Temple of Artemis: Ephesus was home to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Temple of Artemis. Although the temple no longer stands, the foundation and some columns remain, offering a glimpse of its original grandeur.

• Kusadasi Castle - Built and expanded between the 14th and 18th centuries, the picturesque Kusadasi Castle is located on Pigeon Island (Guvercin Adasa), an islet connected to Kusadasi by a causeway. Originally a military base, the fortress features outer walls enclosing gardens and an inner castle with a small museum.

• Ephesus Terrace Houses - This cluster of ancient two-story homes spans three tiers, showcasing how wealthy Romans lived during the city’s peak. Glass floors allow you to admire geometric mosaics and vibrant frescoes on the walls—it’s no wonder some compare the site to Pompeii.

• Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - The House of Virgin Mary: A Christian pilgrimage site in Turkey, believed to be the last home of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ, who is said to have lived there until her Assumption.
