• Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - The first stop is The House of Virgin Mary, situated on the Aladag Mountains, 5 miles from Ephesus. During the third Ecumenical Council in 431 AD in Ephesus, it was asserted that Mary arrived in Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and resided there until her passing in 48 A.D. Following the house’s discovery, the Archbishop of Izmir designated it as a pilgrimage site in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited and prayed there. A 10-minute drive will then take guests to the upper gate of Ephesus.
• Ancient City of Ephesus - The tour continues with a visit to Ephesus, a highlight in Turkey and one of the 12 cities of the Ionian League, located near Izmir. As a port city, it was a key departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor. Guests will walk through history along marble streets lined with remarkable public buildings, including the Baths of Scholastica and the Library of Celsus, constructed in the early 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila in memory of his father, Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of the Province of Asia. The Temple of Hadrian and The Grand Theater, built in the 3rd century B.C. and expanded by the Romans in the 1st century A.D. to accommodate 24,000 spectators, are among the most impressive structures in Ephesus.
• The Temple of Artemis - The final stop is the Artemission Temple, once one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, before returning to Kusadasi town center and port. This marks the end of the services. Entrance fees are not included in the program, totaling approximately 17 USD, payable to the guide in cash at the tour’s conclusion. For those wishing to pay by Visa or MasterCard, the guide will make a brief stop at the office en route to the port.
• Setur Kusadasi Marina Carsi - The return to Kusadasi port will pass through Setur Marina.
