The Grand Theater, built in the 3rd century B.C., was later expanded by the Romans in the 1st century A.D. to accommodate 24,000 spectators.

• Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - Visit the House of Virgin Mary, located on the Aladag Mountains, 5 miles from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council in 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the house’s discovery, the Archbishop of Izmir declared it a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited and prayed there.
• The Basilica of Saint John - After visiting the House of Virgin Mary, proceed to the Basilica of St. John. It is believed that the evangelist St. John spent his final years in the region around Ephesus and was buried on the southern slope of Ayosolug Hill.
• The Temple of Artemis - The tour will stop at the Temple of Artemis, once one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, as the final stop before returning to Kusadasi town center and port.
