• Ancient City of Ephesus - An archaeological gem, Ephesus is the best-preserved classical city in the Eastern Mediterranean. In the 1st century AD, it was the second-largest city globally after Rome, with over 250,000 residents. It served as a central hub between the East and the West, with a massive harbor that made it a trading center in antiquity. Ephesus was not only a wealthy commercial city but also the honeymoon destination for Mark Anthony and Cleopatra. It is home to one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Temple of Artemis. • Ephesus Terrace Houses - The Terrace Houses in Ephesus are among the most important structures of the ancient city. Used from the 1st century BC to the 7th century AD, they reflect the rich Ege-Roman culture. Situated on the city’s slopes, these houses provide insights into the social life and daily routines of ancient Ephesus.

The interiors are lavishly decorated with frescoes and mosaics, showcasing intricate artwork. These homes are typically two or three stories high and built with high-quality materials. The architectural style is luxurious and comfortable, reflecting the high living standards of the time. The terrace houses were residential areas for the city’s aristocratic class and offered a grand living space that mirrored their social status.

Today, the Terrace Houses in Ephesus attract significant interest through archaeological excavations and restorations, offering visitors an in-depth view of life during the ancient Roman period.

• The Temple of Artemis - One of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. Its ancient cult dedicated to Artemis was very famous in antiquity and made Ephesus a much-visited pilgrimage site. There were a total of 127 Ionic columns, each 19 meters high. The temple is also considered to be the earliest bank of the ancient world.
