• Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - This revered shrine marks the believed final resting place of St. Mary. The House of the Virgin in Ephesus stands as a testament to the home of Jesus’ beloved mother. Many believe this was where she spent her last days. Today, visitors can explore the restored stone house, now a chapel. It is a sacred site for both Christians and Muslims, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors and pilgrims since its 19th-century discovery. The chapel’s remnants date back to the 6th-century, and the Lazarist Fathers conduct daily mass here. Despite the altar, the house retains a bedroom and kitchen, adorned with images of Mary and candles. The spring beneath St. Mary’s House is thought to be blessed and healing, and visitors can see crutches left behind.
• The Basilica of Saint John - According to Christian tradition, St. John the Apostle came to Ephesus after St. Paul and ministered to the Ephesians.
