- Ancient City of Ephesus - After the initial meeting, there will be a 20-minute drive to the Ephesus area, a major highlight in Turkey. Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of the Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor), is situated near Izmir. As a port city, it was a significant departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor. Stroll through history along marble streets lined with magnificent public buildings, including the Baths of Scholastica and the Library of Celsus (constructed in the early 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila as a tribute to his father Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of the Province of Asia). The Temple of Hadrian and The Grand Theater are two of the most remarkable structures in Ephesus. The Grand Theater was built in the 3rd century B.C. and was later expanded to accommodate 24,000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D.
- Agora Restaurant - For lunch, enjoy a delightful Turkish kebap and mezes with salad, with soft drinks included.
- Miletus - The next destination is Miletus, an ancient city near present-day Akköy at the mouth of the Büyük Menderes (Meander) River. Miletus gained its significance from its position on trade routes. It was one of the largest cities in Anatolia, with a population between 80,000 and 100,000. Highly prosperous, it established many colonies and was home to the 6th-century BC philosophers Anaximander, Anaximenes, and Thales, the town planner Hippodamus, and the architect of Hagia Sophia, Isidorus. With its prominent position, Miletus became the most important port in the area and was the most active member of the twelve cities of the Ionian Confederation. In the 7th century BC, the Lydians besieged the city, which was later controlled by Persians, Romans, and Seljuk Turks.
- Temple of Apollo - The final visit after Miletus will be to Didyma. The word Didyma means “twins” and was associated by some as the meeting place of Zeus and Leto to have their twins Apollo and Artemis. Didyma was renowned as a prophecy center dedicated to Apollo, serving a similar purpose as the Delphi of Anatolia. It was not a city but a sanctuary connected to Miletus by the Milesians with a 19 km/12 mi sacred road.
- Kusadasi - After the tour, guests will be taken back to the Kusadasi city center or port.
