In dry season you’ll be able to see the watermarks on the beams showing how high the waters rise, and in wet season you’ll see the villagers and fishermen going about their business by boat.

Kampong Phluk, a floating village situated 31 kilometers east of Siem Reap, is surrounded by lush mangroves that frequently flood. Famous for its unique stilt houses, this fishing village presents a dynamic landscape shaped by Cambodia’s wet and dry seasons. Please note that on November 14-15, during the water festival, transportation for pick-up and drop-off is not included. Departures will be from our office at Siem Reap Pub Hostel, and drop-offs will be at the night market.

From June to January, during the rainy season, water levels rise, and locals navigate by boat. In the dry season, some walking is necessary. This small-group tour offers an intimate look at the distinctive lifestyle and culture of this Southeast Asian lake community.
