Angkor Wat - At 08:00 am, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Siem Reap in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. The journey begins at the Angkor Wat Ticket Office, where visitors will purchase their Angkor Pass (required). The first destination is Angkor Wat, one of Southeast Asia’s most well-preserved archaeological sites and recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Visitors will be amazed by Angkor Wat’s massive structures and intricate architecture. Constructed in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat offers a stunning exploration of its vastness, from intricately carved hallways, columns, and mysterious chambers to its grand courtyards.
Angkor Thom South Gate - The tour continues with a visit to the Angkor Thom complex. Its expansive walls, measuring approximately 6m wide, 8m high, and 13km long, enclose numerous monuments. Within these walls resided the king, his relatives, officials, military officers, and priests, while the rest of the population lived outside the great enclosure, between two artificial lakes. The visit begins at the South Gate, a captivating introduction to Angkor Thom, featuring well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge.
Bayon Temple - The Bayon is a richly adorned Khmer temple located in Angkor, Cambodia. Built in the late 12th or early 13th century as the state temple of the Mahayana Buddhist King Jayavarman VII, the Bayon is situated at the center of Jayavarman’s capital, Angkor Thom. A unique feature of the Bayon is the lack of an enclosing wall, though it is protected by the wall surrounding Angkor Thom. The Bayon’s basic design includes three levels with 200 smiling faces on the temple tower.
Terrace of the Elephants - The guide will lead visitors to the Terrace of the Elephants, which served as a platform for the King to welcome his victorious army, and the Terrace of the Leper King, which features detailed carvings along a narrow passageway leading to the Baphuon complex. If time allows, additional temples in the area may be visited.
Ta Prohm Temple - Built in the 12th century, Ta Prohm has been intentionally left to the jungle’s power by French archaeologists to showcase nature’s incredible force. The temple is largely enveloped by the jungle, and as visitors navigate the crumbling stone structures, they will encounter giant trees growing from the temple itself. At every turn, one might expect to see Indiana Jones (or Lara Croft) emerging from behind a fallen pillar.
