The tour will also include a visit to the renowned West Gate at the end, allowing for a second, shorter exploration of the world’s largest temple.
- Prasat Kravan - The next stop is Prasat Kravan, a small temple featuring five aligned towers. It is notable for its large brick carvings, unlike other Angkor carvings made from sandstone.
- Prasat Bat Chum - Bat Chum is a small temple with three Prasat towers on a shared platform. It holds historical significance due to inscriptions indicating Buddhism’s early presence in Angkor, predating the Buddhist King Jayavarman VII. It is a unique site, not often visited by tourists.
- Srah Srang - The terrace with animal sculptures at Srah Srang is quite scenic. Unlike Barays, Srahs are artificially deepened basins. Srah Srang, a smaller but intricate basin, was likely used for ceremonies. It was initiated by a Buddhist prime minister in the 10th century and rebuilt by a Buddhist king in the late 12th century.
- Banteay Kdei - Banteay Kdei, the smaller counterpart of the famous jungle temple Ta Prohm, is still a large complex. Its flat temple has a labyrinthine layout, but visitors need not worry about getting lost.
After visiting Banteay Kdei, there will be a lunch break at the nearby Srah Srang reservoir, offering a selection of excellent restaurants.
Alternatively, visitors can return to town for lunch, but this detour would incur additional driver costs and extend the tour to over 9 to 10 hours.
- Ta Prohm Temple - Ta Prohm is the renowned jungle temple of Cambodia, enveloped by massive strangler figs. It is a vast temple complex, inviting thorough exploration.
- Ta Nei Temple - Ta Nei remains hidden in the jungle, accessible only by gravel roads, making it a less frequented site. Its ruins offer an “Indiana Jones” experience and feature exquisite relief art.
- Ta Keo - Ta Keo, a former state temple, is an artificial mountain with a stepped pyramid design. The stairs to the top platform, where five Prasats are located, are notably steep.
- Spean Thma - Enjoy a photo stop at Spean Thma, a stone bridge from the late Angkor period, constructed using stones from earlier temples. The riverbed has since shifted eastward.
- Chau Say Tevoda - Chau Say Tevoda is a charming medium-sized temple with an impressive eastern processional route and numerous pediment carvings depicting mythological themes.
- Thommanon - Thommanon, the sister temple of Chau Say Tevoda, dates back to the Angkor Wat period. Its towers share the same architectural style as Angkor Wat.
- The Victory Gate - The Victory Gate is the second eastern gate of Angkor Thom and is one of the best-preserved city gates. Climbing the wall offers a stunning view of the southern giant face of the gate, beautifully framed by trees.
- Bayon Temple - At the iconic Bayon temple in the heart of Angkor Thom, there will be a brief photo stop during the “Small Tour.”
- Angkor Thom South Gate - Take time to appreciate the iconic South Gate of Angkor Thom, with its face tower and railings formed by rows of giant statues depicting demons and gods, a must-see in Angkor.
In line with our animal welfare policy, we do not offer elephant rides at Angkor Thom.
- Angkor Wat - Late afternoon is ideal for photographing the towers of Angkor Wat reflected in the temple ponds and moats. Visitors will have another half-hour at this famous temple, already explored in the morning.
A stationary balloon ride is also available, offering a bird’s eye view of Angkor Wat. Late afternoon is also the best time for photography here.
- Wat Thmey (Killing Fields) - Wat Thmey features a small memorial stupa for Khmer Rouge victims and photo boards displaying images of those who perished. The grounds also include a large prayer hall.
- Siem Reap - Drop-off will be at the hotel or any preferred location in the vibrant town center of Siem Reap, known for its lively markets.

This exclusive trip is conducted by an English-speaking chauffeur. You get the chance to independently explore each temple while your driver will be waiting at the vehicle parking area.
Notable features of the ‘Small Tour’ include Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and Angkor Thom. We aim to enhance your experience by merging the standard itinerary of the Small Tour: First, you would get to view Angkor Wat twice, initially for 2 hours and again for 30 minutes toward the end of the trip, allowing you to witness the majesty of this complex in the finest sun exposure. Second, you would explore two additional ‘hidden charms’, one of them being a emblematic ‘lost temple in the jungle’.
Your lunch break would be at Srah Srang, a reservoir with ample good eateries. Alternatively, the driver can take you to a different location, assuming you agree to bear the cost for the extra travel distance.
Every temple can only be accessed with an Angkor Ticket, which is NOT a part of the tour expense: 1 day: 37.-US$ per individual. Multi-day tickets are preferred by most visitors.
