- Kompong Khleang - Guests will be collected from all hotels in the central area of Siem Reap town and will first visit the local fishing community of Kampong. This destination is an hour’s drive from Siem Reap to Kampong Kleang, a part of the community’s eco-tourism attractions. Travelers can hire boats for community-based tours of Kompong Khleang, the largest and least visited floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. While cruising the river, visitors can enjoy taking photos of the stilted and floating Cambodian life on the water. The tours are led by driver-guides from the village, and all profits benefit their community.
- Spean Praptos - The tour includes a stop at the ancient bridge at Banteay Kdei, known as Spean Praptos. Located on the road from Angkor to Phnom Chisor, Cambodia, it was once the longest corbeled stone-arch bridge in the world, with over twenty narrow arches spanning 285 feet. Constructed in the 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII, it offers a great photo opportunity on the journey between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
- Sambor Prei Kuk - The tour also visits the archaeological site of Sambor Prei Kuk, known as “the temple in the richness of the forest” in Khmer. Identified as Ishanapura, the capital of the Chenla Empire, it flourished in the late 6th and early 7th centuries AD. The site includes over a hundred temples, ten of which are octagonal, unique in South-East Asia. The decorated sandstone elements are characteristic of the pre-Angkor decorative style, known as the Sambor Prei Kuk Style. These elements, including lintels, pediments, and colonnades, are masterpieces. The art and architecture developed here became models for the region and laid the foundation for the unique Khmer style of the Angkor period. It is located in Kampong Thom Province, 30 km north of Kampong Thom, the provincial capital, 176 km east of Angkor, and 206 km north of Phnom Penh.
- Skun - A brief 15-minute stop at Skoun allows for a photo opportunity with local delicacies, including fried insects. Fried spider is a regional snack in Cambodia. In the town of Skuon (Cheung Prey, Kampong Cham Province), the sale of fried spiders as a specialty snack is a popular attraction for tourists passing through. While spiders are available elsewhere in Cambodia, such as in Phnom Penh, Skuon, a market town on the highway 75 kilometers (47 miles) from the capital, is the center of their popularity. The spiders are bred in holes in the ground in villages north of Skuon or foraged in nearby forests and fried in oil. The origin of this practice is unclear, but it is suggested that it began out of necessity during the Khmer Rouge era when food was scarce.
