The first stop is the Palm Sugar Village, where families have been producing traditional Cambodian sugar for generations. Observe the entire process from palm tree to sweet, golden crystals.
• Poeng Ta Kho (Amazing Cliff) - This is significant – the birthplace of the Angkor Empire. Climb to the top of Kulen Mountain for breathtaking views, then visit the massive reclining Buddha carved into the rock. Next is the River of a Thousand Lingas – these ancient carvings in the riverbed are truly astonishing.

This viewpoint offers exactly what it promises. The panoramic views extend across canyons and forests as far as the eye can see. It’s just a short walk from the parking area, but the reward is immense.

• Preah Ang Thom Pagoda - Imagine an 8-meter reclining Buddha carved into the mountainside – for 1,000 years, pilgrims have made this climb. Local families light incense, monks offer quiet prayers, and the ancient stone face seems to change expression with the light. Whether spiritual or not, standing here is a unique experience.
• 1000 Lingas - Thousands of sacred fertility symbols carved into the riverbed by 11th-century priests, transforming flowing water into holy water for the entire Angkor kingdom.
• Phnom Kulen Waterfall - This is where the day becomes truly delightful. Crystal-clear pools fed by limestone-filtered mountain water, with a picnic spread on smooth rocks and waterfalls as the soundtrack. Then comes the swim – refreshing cold water in pools so clear you can see every pebble.
• Beng Mealea - After lunch, the adventure continues with something truly special. Beng Mealea Temple resembles what Angkor Wat might look like if nature had fully reclaimed it. Built in the 12th century, this temple is enveloped in jungle vines and massive tree roots. It’s raw, authentic, and feels like a hidden discovery.
• Kampong Phluk - The final stop is one of Cambodia’s most intriguing floating villages. Families live their entire lives on the water, surrounded by towering stilt houses and dense mangrove forests. Visit a Buddhist monastery built on an artificial island – it’s a sight unlike any other.
• Siem Reap - Return to town by 6:30 pm. Guests can choose to head straight to their hotel to rest or be dropped off at the Old Market for some evening shopping and dinner. The choice is yours.
