Peacock Asia Tours - Phnom Kulen is a sacred mountain deeply connected to Cambodian history and spirituality. The journey includes passing through serene countryside where Khmer villagers maintain traditional lifestyles, with stilted houses, rice fields, and lush landscapes providing a glimpse into authentic rural life. Phnom Kulen, known as the birthplace of the Khmer Empire, is one of Cambodia’s most esteemed pilgrimage destinations.
Discover the River of a Thousand Lingas, adorned with sacred carvings symbolizing fertility, the enormous reclining Buddha carved into sandstone, and the refreshing Kulen Waterfall, a popular spot for locals to bathe and unwind. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely lunch and rest before heading to Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Visit Kompong Phluk, an intriguing floating village built on stilts above the water. Depending on the season, the houses either tower above or float with the lake’s level. A boat trip unveils daily life on the water—fishing, schools, and temples—offering an unforgettable cultural and natural experience.

Good but expensive - The tour was interesting and the guide friendly and knowledgeable. A gift of scarves was well appreciated.
We felt the price a bit high for what the tour entailed. Be prepared to add 20USD per person for Kulen mountain and another 20USD per person for the floating village. Also be prepared to be asked by the tour guide, for some money at various times to tip people.
