Ta Prohm - At 8:30 am, after breakfast, the driver will pick up the guests to obtain the temple pass and head to explore the city of Angkor Thom. The tour begins with a visit to Bayon Temple, a prominent site in the center of Angkor Thom city, featuring 49 towers, each adorned with 4 faces, totaling 196 faces. The journey continues to the nearby Baphoun, a Hindu temple predating Angkor Wat, and proceeds to the Royal Enclosure, including a visit to the Elephant and Leper King Terrace, all within the Angkor Thom complex. The tour then moves outside the complex to Ta Prohm Temple, famous for its massive tree roots enveloping the structure and known as the filming location for the movie “Tomb Raider.”
After a busy morning, lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the world-renowned Angkor Wat Temple, a truly awe-inspiring site. The day concludes with a climb to Phnom Bakheng to watch the sunset from the hilltop temple.
Banteay Srei and Grand Tour
Banteay Srei - The tour begins with a visit to Banteay Srei, also known as the Ladies Temple, constructed from pink sandstone in the mid-10th century by Hindu King Rajendravarman II, dedicated to the Hindu trinity, primarily Shiva. On the return journey, there will be a stop at Sugar Palm villages to observe locals making sugar palm, with an optional visit to the Landmine Museum, before continuing to Banteay Samre.
In the afternoon, the tour proceeds to Prah Khan, built by King Jayavarman VII in honor of his father. The journey continues to Neak Poan, a small island temple in the middle of the last Baray, constructed by a Khmer King in the Angkor area. The tour then visits the nearby Ta Som, a small yet classic temple, followed by East Mebon, a large temple-mountain-like ruin rising three levels and crowned by five towers. The day concludes with a visit to Pre Rup Temple, constructed in the late 10th century and dedicated to Hindu gods.
