Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta Prohm
Ta Prohm - At 8:30 am, after breakfast, our driver will pick you up and take you to get your temple pass before heading to the city of Angkor Thom. Ta Prohm - At 8:30 am, after breakfast, our driver will pick you up and take you to get your temple pass before heading to the city of Angkor Thom. We will begin our visit at Bayon temple, the central highlight of Angkor Thom, featuring 49 towers each adorned with 4 faces, totaling 196 faces. Next, we will walk to the nearby Baphuon temple, a Hindu temple built before Angkor Wat, and continue to the Royal Enclosure, visiting the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King within the Angkor Thom complex. We will then proceed outside the Angkor Thom complex to visit Ta Prohm temple, famous for its massive tree roots enveloping the structure and as the filming location for the movie “Tomb Raider.”
After a busy morning, we will have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit the world-renowned Angkor Wat temple, which is truly awe-inspiring. Following this, we will head to Phnom Bakheng to climb the hill and temple for a stunning sunset view.
Banteay Srei and Grand Tour
Banteay Srei - We will start our day at Banteay Srei, also known as the Ladies’ Temple, built from pink sandstone in the mid-10th century by Hindu King Rajendravarman II in dedication to the Hindu trinity, primarily Shiva. On our way back, we will stop at Sugar Palm villages to observe local people making sugar palm, and you may also visit the Landmine Museum nearby. We will then continue to Banteay Samre.
In the afternoon, we will visit Prah Khan, built by King Jayavarman VII in dedication to his father. Next, we will proceed to Neak Pean, a small island temple located in the middle of the last Baray, constructed by a Khmer King in the Angkor area. We will then visit the nearby Ta Som temple, a small yet classic structure, followed by East Mebon, a large temple-mountain ruin rising three levels and crowned by five towers. Our final stop will be Pre Rup temple, constructed in the late 10th century and dedicated to Hindu gods.
