- Angkor Wat - Experience the awe-inspiring sunrise at Angkor Wat, Cambodia’s most iconic temple. Arrive early to capture stunning photographs and soak in the peaceful atmosphere as the first light unveils the magnificence of this UNESCO site.
Angkor Wat, situated in Siem Reap, Cambodia, is the world’s largest religious monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Constructed in the early 12th century under King Suryavarman II, this architectural wonder was initially dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu before becoming a Buddhist temple. It represents the zenith of Khmer engineering, art, and devotion.
- Ta Prohm Temple - Ta Prohm, a renowned temple in the Angkor Archaeological Park near Siem Reap, Cambodia, is famous for its harmonious blend with the surrounding jungle. Built in the late 12th to early 13th century by King Jayavarman VII, Ta Prohm was originally dedicated to his mother and functioned as a Buddhist monastery and university. Its enchanting mix of nature and architecture has earned it the nickname “The Jungle Temple.”
- Banteay Kdei - Banteay Kdei, meaning “Citadel of Chambers” or “Citadel of Monks’ Cells,” is an ancient Buddhist temple in the Angkor Archaeological Park near Siem Reap, Cambodia. Although less known than Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm, it holds significant historical and architectural importance as part of the great Khmer Empire.
- Bayon Temple - Bayon Temple is one of the most celebrated and mysterious temples in the Angkor Archaeological Park, located in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is famous for its captivating stone faces and intricate carvings, showcasing the artistic and architectural brilliance of the Khmer Empire at its height.
- The Victory Gate - The Victory Gate is one of the five monumental entrance gates to Angkor Thom, the grand capital city of the Khmer Empire, near Siem Reap, Cambodia. Built during King Jayavarman VII’s reign in the late 12th century, this gate was part of his grand vision for Angkor Thom.
The Victory Gate, as its name implies, served as the ceremonial entrance for victorious armies returning to Angkor Thom after battles. It also symbolized the king’s power and divine protection over the city.
This gate was part of Angkor Thom’s eastern wall and provided access to the Royal Palace and the Terrace of the Elephants, where the king would oversee parades, ceremonies, and other royal events.
- Baphuon Temple - The Baphuon Temple is one of the most impressive monuments within the Angkor Archaeological Park, located in Angkor Thom near Siem Reap, Cambodia. Known as the “Tower of Bronze,” it is an architectural marvel from the Khmer Empire that reflects the grandeur and ambition of 11th-century Angkorian architecture.
Baphuon was constructed in the mid-11th century during King Udayadityavarman II’s reign (r. 1049–1065). Dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, it was originally built as a state temple and served as the centerpiece of Udayadityavarman II’s capital.
The Baphuon predates Angkor Thom and was built nearly 150 years before the nearby Bayon Temple. At the time, it was one of the largest temples in Angkor, second only to Angkor Wat in scale and importance.
In later centuries, under Buddhist influence, parts of the temple were modified. Notably, a massive reclining Buddha was added to the western side of the temple during the 16th century.
