Angkor Wat - Day One: (Ta Prohm, Pre Rup Temple, Banteay Samre, and Banteay Srey Temple for 7-8 hours). At 8 am, guests will be transported by car or minivan to the jungle-clad temple of Ta Prohm. Witness the mesmerizing sight of tree roots enveloping the ancient stones. Next, visit the pyramid-shaped Pre Rup, constructed in the latter half of the 10th century (961 AD) in dedication to the god Shiva and the king’s ancestors. Continue to the less-frequented Banteay Samre Temple, showcasing Angkor Wat style. After a lunch break, explore Banteay Srei, known as the ‘Citadel of the Women,’ renowned for its intricate carvings believed to be crafted by a woman. This temple is unique as it was commissioned by a Brahman, possibly a tutor to Jayavarman V, rather than a king. Return to the hotel.
Small Circuit Angkor Tour + Sunrise Departure at 5:00 am
Angkor Wat - Day Two: At 5 am, guests will be driven to the temple complex by car or minivan to witness the sunrise over the magnificent Angkor Wat. This early hour offers a tranquil experience with minimal crowds. Proceed north to explore Basei ChamKrong, built in 947 AD by Harshavarman I and completed by Rajendravarman II, dedicated to Shiva (Hindu) as a pyramid temple, reminiscent of the ancient Maya city of Tikal in Central America. Then, visit the Bayon Temple, famous for its smiling faces, located in the heart of Angkor Thom, a city that housed approximately 300,000 people in the 13th century. Continue to nearby temples, including Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, Preah Palilay, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King. Enjoy a local lunch. Afterward, visit Preah Khan Temple, built in 1191 to honor the king’s father. Return to the hotel.
Roluos Group and Tonle Sap Lake
Kompong Phluk - Day Three: (Kompong Kleang of stilted and floating village, Roluos Group Temple) At 8 am, travel to a remote village to observe the authentic lifestyle of those living by the lake. During the rainy season, houses appear to float on water, and residents navigate using boats or motorboats. In the dry season, experience the towering bamboo structures before embarking on a boat ride. Visit Kompong Kleang, known for its stilted and floating villages on Tonle Sap Lake, and enjoy a delightful boat ride. Explore the Roluos Group Temple: Roluos is a modern Cambodian town and archaeological site about 13 km east of Siem Reap along National Road 6. It was once the seat of Hariharalaya city (Shiva-Vishnu city). Discover the temples of Lolei, Bakong, and Preah Ko. If time allows, visit the Artisan D’Angkor School upon returning to the city.
