• Siem Reap - The guide will collect you at 8 am from your hotel to begin the day exploring the temples of the UNESCO-listed Angkor National Park, a World Heritage site and the largest religious monument globally. Please purchase your entrance ticket at the ticket office, where we will pause for you to do so, before proceeding with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat, the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, recognized as one of the 7 Wonders of the World.
• Angkor Wat - Constructed between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation, Angkor Wat is the best-preserved temple. Its layout and scale are awe-inspiring, with the surrounding wall measuring 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, symbolizing the world’s oceans, being 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural representation of the mythical Mount Meru at the world’s center (Himalaya). This remarkable temple houses the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which adorns the outer gallery walls.
• Angkor Thom South Gate - We will also explore the Angkor Thom complex, with its vast walls measuring 6m wide, 8m high, and 13km long, containing numerous monuments. Inside the walls, the king, his relatives, officials, military officers, and priests resided, while the rest of the population lived outside the great enclosure, between two artificial lakes. Our visit will start at the South Gate, a stunning introduction to Angkor Thom, featuring well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge.
• Bayon Temple - Within the complex, we will first visit the Bayon, known for its 200 endlessly smiling faces. This temple mountain, located in the center of Angkor Thom City, distinguishes the Bayon from many other Angkor monuments.
• Terrace of the Elephants - We will continue to the Elephant Terrace, named for its remarkable depiction of elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King, which showcases a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king.
• Ta Prohm Temple - At Ta Prohm, be captivated by the sight of ruins overtaken by tree roots, demonstrating the incredible power of nature. Discover how French archaeologists left this controversial site to the jungle’s destructive forces.
