It’s a major tourist attraction, especially as it lies on the main route between Angkor Wat and the Bayon Temple.

The Angkor Small Circuit stands out due to its concentration of the most iconic and renowned temples within a relatively compact area, making it perfect for a one-day visit. This popular route features the majestic Angkor Wat, the mysterious Bayon temple with its smiling faces inside Angkor Thom, and the jungle-covered Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider temple), all showcasing a variety of architectural styles and historical importance.
The Grand Circuit at Angkor temples is unique for its emphasis on more distant, less crowded, and often distinctive temples outside the main central area. It includes sites such as the island temple Neak Pean, the expansive temple complex Preah Khan, the tree-covered Ta Som, and the elephant-adorned East Mebon, Pre Rup temples, and Banteay Samre. Unlike the “Small Circuit,” which highlights the major central temples like Angkor Wat and Bayon, the Grand Circuit provides a richer, more comprehensive view of the Angkorian architectural and cultural landscape.
