See Siem Reap the way the birds do - The Angkor Eye is a fun way to get a real birds eye view of the area surrounding Siem Reap. Conveniently located, it is an easy tuk tuk ride from anywhere in the city. Though not as large as some others, cars are clean, comfortable and offer 360 degree views as you make your way around. One thing to watch out for. The web site says it is open from 1500 to 2000 Monday through Sunday which implies 7 days per week. Just below that in parenthesis, it says closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Simply unforgettable experience - An unforgettable experience with breathtaking views!
My visit to Angkor Eye was just fantastic! The Ferris wheel offers spectacular views over Siem Reap and the surrounding countryside, especially at sunset. The cabins are spacious, clean and well ventilated so the ride is very pleasant.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole process – from booking tickets to boarding – was well organised. The quiet ride allows you to enjoy the impressive surroundings in peace.
Whether as a couple, with friends or family – the Angkor Eye is definitely a highlight in Siem Reap and a great experience I can recommend to anyone!

Great spot for bird view - I took my kids to ride the Angkor Eye twice and although the price is a bit high for a family of 6, the experience was worth it. At $5 per person, the ride lasts around 18 minutes, which goes by quickly. The highlight of the place is the kids play area, which my children absolutely adore. We visit often and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bird's eye view of Siem Reap city and a great spot for sunset photography.

Fun thing to do in town - Beautiful way to see the sunset. Not much of a view of Angkor Wat, but it was very nice nonetheless.

Eyeing up Siem Reap - JUST a short tuktuk ride from the centre of Siem Reap lies the towering Angkor Eye attraction off National Route 6.
Entry costs $10 which entitles the visitor to take a single 360 degree circuit which at its height reaches 85 metres.
At the top of the ride there are views of the countryside and temples on a journey which lasts about 18 minutes.
However, there is a problem if, as I did, you went in the hope of seeing a colourful sunset.
For a start, what time is it best to see the sunset?
There is no guide and staff at the Eye could only give me a rough estimate of the best time to board the Eye. The result was a bit of farce.
Eventually I took the plunge and boarded my gondola to be gently lifted into the sky.
There was no doubt that the views were spectacular and no doubt I saw a sunset....but not THE sunset.
This was because my timing was slightly off and when the sunset was at its best my gondola had already started its descent and was lower than I wanted.
Nothing I could do about it because by the time I reached the bottom the sunset was pretty much over and it was starting to get dark.
A few tips. Be prepared to scramble about in the gondola as girders and stanchions can interfere with photography. The best way is to stay on your feet so you can move about quickly from one side to the other.
So enjoy the Eye....but I hope your timing is better than mine!
