Day 2: Angkor Wat
The day begins with a trip to the significant historical site of Angkor Thom, encompassing some of the most exquisite temples dating back to King Jayavarman VII’s reign from 1181 to 1220. Visitors universally respect and are in awe of these stunning stone carvings. Located at the heart of this ancient city is the Bayon Temple, erected in the latter part of the 12th century.
Our afternoon is dedicated to exploring the grand Angkor Wat, constructed during the time of Suryavarman II. There will also be a chance to capture the hauntingly beautiful intertwining of silk-cotton tree roots around the Ta Prohm temple, a legacy of Jayavarman VII’s era.
