- Battambang Central Market - After being picked up by the guide and driver, the first destination is Battambang Central Market. This historic French market offers a chance to explore and listen to stories from the guide about the local lifestyle and traditions passed down through generations. A stroll along the riverside reveals many old French buildings, as this town was part of the French protectorate from 1863 to 1953.
- Battambang City Hall - As part of the riverside walk, you will visit the city hall and have the opportunity to take photos before proceeding to the next location.
- Khmer Prahok Market - Following the visit to Ek Phnom Temple, there is a quick stop at the traditional site where Cambodians make Prohok (Fermented Fish), a staple in Khmer cuisine. To understand its significance, it can be compared to the Dutch fondness for cheese. Please be aware of a slightly fishy smell in the area.
- Mrs. Bun Roeung’s Ancient House - Explore these century-old wooden houses to gain insight into the local way of life.
- Romcheik 5 Artspace & Café - This venue serves as both an art gallery and a spot for lunch or a snack during the tour. It’s an excellent place to view art or enjoy a café break (optional).
- Bamboo Train Battambang - Enjoy a bamboo train ride on the old French railway. This fun activity offers a unique way to see the local village and experience the authentic side of Battambang.
- Hanging Bridge - Visit the traditional suspension bridge, known as the hanging bridge, and explore the local plantations in the vicinity.
- Ek Phnom - After exploring the riverside and old French protectorate buildings, the tour continues to the ancient temple of Ek Phnom. Here, you can also visit the monastery with a modern pagoda in front of a crumbling 11th-century temple, featuring a large sitting Buddha statue.
- Battambang Bat Caves - This activity is available if the city tour is booked from 1 PM, allowing for a visit to the bat cave at sunset. If booked in the morning, the bat cave and Phnom Sompov can still be visited, but the tour, lasting around 4 hours, may conclude earlier.
