The northern countryside of Battambang - Guided by Sopheak, a student of English literature, I visited artisanal businesses (rice dough leaves, dried fruits, rice alcohol distillery, sale of sticky rice), walked pretty paths between the rice fields, gazed at net fishermen on the banks of the Stung Sanke. The last stage was heavier with the memorial to the Khmer Rouge abuses in Ek Phnom. A friendly and involved boy, a solidarity company, the half day seemed short to me!

A Taste & Cycle We Loved - We cycled, smiled, tasted & learned much during this half day morning tour with Savith & Pich, Besides being great guides & riders, they’re a wonderful example of NextGen leading from both the front & back. The bikes are well-maintained, it’s super easy cycling, everyone you meet at the stops is interesting and you will not go hungry😆 It was super handy to have a support TukTuk with us as they carried very cold water we refreshed with at stops (and they carried some of the delicious homemade, handmade snacks we bought. Bring your curiosity, that’s really all you need.

A superb human discovery - Thanks to Pich for allowing us to discover the daily lives of some families, their difficulties but also their smiles and their warm welcome. A few hours between city and nature, between history and civilization.

Highly recommended: Local Livelihood Tour with Soksabike! Nice and active, fun and educational! - Highly recommended: Local Livelihood Tour (Half Day)met @soksabike! A fun, active and interactive experience to get to know the local life near Battambang better. From Muslim community to temples, from market to fruit stand, from rice field to pepper plantation. Beautiful nature and tranquility. Good, concise, clear stories & explanations from a sympathetic guide (Pich). Sharp eye for safety. The mountain bikes were in excellent condition, Western/ European. The distance was 30 km, it was warm, but very doable, by regular stops and good care, with water, drinks and local delicacies. A real slow travel experience, after all I think it is worth an extra mention that Soksabike has set a 'standard' for sustainable tourism in Battambang.

Excellent half-day tour - We spent a morning with Pek of Soksabike, Battambang, and had a wonderful time. Pek was a very welcoming guide, his English is excellent and he took the time to ensure we were comfortable on our bikes and understood his instructions before we left. Our cycle ride involved visits to a number of traditional producers in the villages outside Battambang - a rice paper maker, a banana snack maker, fish paste market, a rice wine maker and a sticky rice maker. Part-way through we stopped for refreshments at a lovely family house. Our final stop was Wat Samraong Knong, a Buddhist temple and killing fields site. Pek was super-friendly throughout and very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our morning and loved meeting him. Highly recommended. Thank you, Pek and Soksabike.

A perfect insight into Cambodian culture - We thoroughly enjoyed our cycle tour with Sopheak. He was a knowledgeable and empathetic guide who gave us a real insight into Cambodian life. His English was excellent and we found the stops fascinating. Although it was hot the biking was easy and there was plenty of water to drink and food to taste. It would be great for this wonderful social enterprise to offer market visits and cooking classes

A lovely way of seeing more of the area! - What an amazing experience. Cycling through the beautiful Cambodian countryside and stopping for breaks along the way to learn about local life. My tour guide was wonderful and so knowledgeable. He also made sure I was okay along the way, slowing down when the heat was getting stronger. It helps that the area is flat and the bikes are good quality mountain bikes so an easy ride. Please note this is a lovely way of getting a little breeze and although you will feel tired after, it was so worth it. I would 100% recommend.
