Setting Sail: A Journey Begins

The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon as I found myself at the Kos harbor, ready to embark on a full-day boat cruise to explore the islands north of Kos. As a marine biologist, the allure of the sea is irresistible, and this adventure promised a blend of relaxation and discovery. As we approached Vathi, the sight of dolphins playfully leaping alongside the boat was a delightful surprise. I took a leisurely stroll along the beach, feeling the sand between my toes, and enjoyed a refreshing drink at a nearby taverna. Time seemed to stand still, and I wished we could linger longer, but the schedule called us back to the boat.

The journey back was about an hour and a quarter, and we arrived at Kos harbor around 5 pm. The transfer back to the hotel was seamless, and the organizers were incredibly helpful when one of our group members realized they had left their phone in the transit car. It was returned within minutes, a testament to the professionalism and care of the team.

This full-day boat cruise was an excellent way to experience the stunning islands surrounding Kos. The combination of breathtaking views, friendly crew, and the chance to swim in some of the clearest waters I’ve ever seen made it a day to remember. I left with a heart full of joy and a promise to return, eager to explore more of the wonders that the Aegean Sea has to offer.
