• Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden - The Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden, Turkey’s first butterfly garden and Europe’s largest butterfly flight area, opened to visitors in 2015. The garden spans 7,200 m2, with a 3,500 m2 excursion area divided into the Butterfly Flight Area and Insect Museum. The building’s construction used 630 tons of steel and a glass curtain wall cladding system with 1,730 uniquely sized glass pieces. Special PVB material on the windows helps butterflies navigate using sunlight, allowing maximum UV ray penetration. Designed in the shape of a butterfly, the garden aims to foster a love for nature and animals, especially in children. The garden maintains a temperature of 28°C and 80% humidity.
• Sille - Sille has been continuously inhabited since the Phrygians and has been a significant settlement in Konya since the Byzantine era. It was one of the first centers of the Early Christian period and a key stop on the pilgrimage route between Istanbul and Jerusalem. In 327, Helena, mother of Byzantine Emperor Constantine, visited Konya on her pilgrimage to Jerusalem and saw the early Christian carved temples. Impressed by the believers’ devotion despite hardships, she commissioned a temple for Christians in Sille. The historical Sille Village also features museums, mosques, a dam lake, and a historic bathhouse.
