• Temple of Kom Ombo - A tour guide will collect visitors from their hotel in Aswan to explore the temples of Kom Ombo, which are situated on elevated grounds with a view of the Nile. Unlike most ancient Egyptian temples, this one is dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Haroeris, “Horus the Elder,” the falcon god. The temple is unique due to its perfect symmetry along the main axis. The current structure was initiated by Ptolemy VI Philometor (180–145 BC) and further developed by subsequent rulers, notably Ptolemy XIII (47-44 BC), who constructed the inner and outer hypostyle halls. Crocodiles once lounged on the riverbanks, and a few of the approximately 300 mummified crocodiles discovered here are exhibited in the small on-site Crocodile Museum.
• Temple of Horus - Continue the journey to visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, renowned as the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. Dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god, it is believed to be the site where Horus avenged his father Osiris’s murder by defeating Seth, according to Egyptian mythology. The existing structure dates back to the Ptolemaic period (332 - 30 B.C.) and is notable for being the only known temple in ancient Egypt to have been completed. After the visit, guests will be transported to their hotel in Luxor or returned to their hotel in Aswan.
