Bishkek - Kochkor Village – Kyzart Pass – Kilemche Summer Camp

Kochkor - Travel time: 1-hour drive/8-hour ride
Begin the day with breakfast before departing from Bishkek to Kochkor. Upon arrival, meet the guide for a brief orientation about the horse trek. Proceed westward on the Kochkor — Jumgal road. Reach the Kyzart Pass, where the guide team and horses await. Embark on the horseback journey, crossing the expansive Kyzyl-Kiya jailoo. Continue over the Chaar-Archa Pass (3,061 m) into the Chaar-Archa Valley, enjoying a delicious lunch by the river with views of the sacred 4,400 m Baba-Ata Mountain. After lunch, cross the river and follow the trail over lush hills to Kilemche Jailoo. The name “Kilemche” translates to “like a carpet,” reflecting the grass’s intricate patterns that cover the mountain ranges. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a yurt.

Kilemche Summer Camp – Jalgyz Karagai Pass – Kyr Jol Summer Camp

Kilemche - Riding time: 5 hours
After breakfast at Kilemche, spend the morning ascending to Jalgyz Karagai Pass (3,400 m), crossing the Song-Kol Mountains into the lake basin. The climb offers stunning views of Kilemche jailoo, and the rocky pass is thrilling. From the pass, Song-Kol Lake appears distant, but as you descend, it grows larger, with the mountains rising around it. Follow the lakeshore west to the yurt camp at Tuz-Ashuu for lunch. Afterward, ride for about 2 hours along the lakeshore, observing shepherds at work. Upon arrival, meet the host family of Kyrgyz shepherds. Meals and overnight stay are in a shepherd’s yurt.

Kyr Jol Summer Camp – Sook Kolot Summer Camp

Song Kol Lake - Riding time: 5 hours
Following breakfast, mount the horses and ride along the lakeshore towards Sook Kolot Summer Camp on the southwestern shore of Song Kol Lake. The ride is picturesque, with livestock grazing in the valley. The soothing sound of the lake eases any stress. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route. After several hours of riding, arrive at the yurt camp Mirlan, where a warm welcome with hot tea awaits before dinner.

To Campsite in Uzun Bulak Valley over Oiurma Pass

Moldo-Ashu Pass - Riding time: 5 hours
Bid farewell to the host and ride leisurely up to the Oiurma Pass. As the ascent begins, Song Kol is left behind. Relish the mountain views surrounding Song Kol Lake from the pass’s summit. The vast valley view inspires awe and appreciation for nature’s beauty. The ride descends gently to the campsite along a small stream in the gorge. Arrive at the campsite, located just before a small pass adorned with evergreen trees.

To Bishkek City through Kindick Valley along the Naryn River

Kochkor - Travel time: 8-hour ride/drive
After breakfast, ride over the “Karagayiluu Moinok” pass into Kindick Valley, rich with evergreen trees. The valley resembles a forest with a flowing river, offering a stark contrast to previous days. Enjoy the natural diversity. Stop at a shepherd’s yurt camp for lunch and engage with the family’s children while the meal is prepared. Post-lunch, ride for about 2 hours through the scenic forest hidden in the mountains until reaching the transport. Meet the driver and proceed to Kochkor City via Naryn City. The drive briefly passes by the country’s largest river, “Naryn.” Arrive in Kochkor City at 3:00 PM, then continue to Bishkek City.
