Fortunately, the National Park restricted boats from anchoring in the bay and accessing the beach from 2018 to the end of 2021, allowing the stunning coral island, wildlife, and environment to rejuvenate. At Simba, you will be among the first to arrive at this breathtaking bay, leaving the first footprints of the day on its pristine white sand.

In August and September, the Phi Phi National Park closes Maya Bay to visitors to allow the ecosystem to rejuvenate. During these months, the beautiful Bamboo Island is visited instead.

• Pileh Bay - The tour’s emerald jewel, Pi Leh Lagoon - Tide Dependent Our next stop on the sunrise tour, if the tide permits, is Pileh Lagoon before the crowds gather. • Viking Cave - Discover the secrets of the Phi Phi Islands - Macaque Monkeys and the Viking Cave During the tour, we will pause at a local beach to observe the monkey troop. For safety, we remain on the boat while watching these adorable long-tailed macaques on the monkey beach. For animal enthusiasts, this is a highlight of the tour! The Viking Cave houses the special bird’s nests used for bird’s nest soup. While entry into this vast cave is not possible, we will show you from the outside, where you can see the armed guards protecting the birds’ nests from poachers!
• Nui Beach - Explore the Phi Phi Islands underwater - 1st Snorkeling Stop It’s time to delve into the enchanting underwater world with swimming and snorkeling during our speedboat tour. We provide all snorkeling gear, including fins and flotation aids like life jackets and swim noodles. The staff are always available (in and out of the water) to assist first-timers with encouragement, advice, and sometimes a helping hand throughout the day tour. In and around Phi Phi’s waters, reef sharks are commonly seen, and occasionally whale sharks, dolphins, and whales make an appearance. With luck, these may be spotted on the tour!

Simba are fully supportive of this decision to help in the longevity of tourism for this beautiful bay. The stunning Bamboo Island is visited instead during these months. Be amongst the first of the day to leave footsteps on the beach. Relax and swim whilst our crew prepare your picnic breakfast. We still view Maya bay in the tour, however we cannot walk on the beach
