1. Falasarna Beach
Situated on the western coast of Crete, Falasarna Beach is approximately 59 km west of Chania and 12 km from Kissamos. It comprises several long, sandy bays that extend around 3 km, featuring sections of white-pink sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters. This area is part of the Natura 2000 network due to its ecological significance; the dunes are home to rare plant species, and the waters support a variety of wildlife. The northwest winds can create strong waves, providing excellent conditions for windsurfing. Falasarna is also of archaeological interest: to the north are the remnants of the ancient Hellenistic city of Falasarna, including fortification walls and a harbor.
