As the group ascends the mountain, there will be regular stops to observe animal tracks and other interesting forest features. At the summit, participants can enjoy a warm beverage and capture some memorable photos.

Activity Level - Moderate
Duration - 2.5 hours
Length - Approximately 3 to 3.5 km
Activity Includes - Snowshoes, hot local berry juice, a headlamp (if necessary), and a local guide.
Pickup is available from three locations in Kiruna:
Camp Ripan (10 minutes before the activity starts),
Tourist Information (5 minutes before the activity starts), and
Hotel Scandic (at the start time).
Notes:
Additional clothing is not provided. Please dress appropriately for the weather and activity.
Minimum age: 12 years.
Maximum group size: 8 people.

Beautiful walk. Amazing guide. - We really enjoyed snowshoeing and seeing the sunset from the top of the mountain. Anders went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time, including bringing homemade berry juice and cookies. We could tell he is very knowledgeable and passionate about his job. The walk itself is fairly easy but would be difficult to do independently. We definitely recommend this tour! (Bonus points: Anders learned the names of all the local animals in Italian. We were so impressed!)

My tour was such a great... - My tour was such a great experience! Anders is a local who is super passionate about his environment and culture, and was able to really share his knowledge with us. It was refreshing to have that experience on a group tour. The hike was also super pleasant and definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity! Thank you for the amazing time!

An in-depth experience of Nordic nature! - It's a very meaningful trip! Along the way, the guide introduced us to the history, current situation and the various flora and fauna of Kiruna. We saw footprints of all kinds of animals: hares, foxes, reindeer, elk and a bird (but I don't remember the name). Anyway, it was a fun trip and we got a lot of knowledge about nature!

Adventure fun - We hiked up a mountain with Anders in Kiruna. Pick up and quick drive was friendly and informative. The nature was snow covered magic! Lush surrounds. Lots of interesting animal tracks to spot. A good paced hike both up and down and the snow shoes were comfortable ! I do recommend you buy the heat warmers off Anders at the start!
Thank you for also getting gluten free cookies for me to enjoy our celebration snack at the top of the mountain :)
Definitely recommend for the outdoors adventure !

Uplifting and humorous guide - highly recommended - Anders is an amazing guide who shared generously his knowledge on Kiruna history, heritage, wildlife etc., peppering it with humorous anecdotes and interesting perspectives and insights. His passion for his craft is evident and infectious. He was also very accommodating and upon my request, switched the tour to snowshoeing up the mountain instead of the forest walk. His fika of home-made traditional pastry and lingon cum blueberry juice was an extremely nice touch. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and highly recommend any of his tours.

Good hike - Very nice experience.
Friendly tourguide who took the time to explain everything.
You will be rewarded with a nice view when you are on top of the mountain.
It is not too difficult or hard to do.

A superb activity! - A superb activity to do near Kiruna!
I write this comment quite late, but the timing is perfect for the winter season 2024-2025.
We chose the Up a mountain snowshoe hike, which was perfect from start to finish!
Anders is a very passionate, interesting and really nice guide.
In a few hours we learned a lot about Sweden, the ecosystem, the Sami culture, etc.
Having never snowshoeed, hiking was relatively easy, with a nice reward arrived up there: a delicious lingonberry juice and typical cookies, with a beautiful sunset as a bonus ๐
It was by far the best activity we could do here in Lapland! Do not hesitate!!

RECOMMEND! Really nice Tour. - The hike to the mountain was really great. The Guide Anders is really handsome and explains many things about the nature, animals and all other questions about Kiruna รค.
