Very interesting and well done by the docent. Sparked our interest in FLW and looking forward to visiting other sites

This is the 11th FLW property I have visited and I absolutely loved the tour. The house is impeccably restored, and the fact that it sits on a private 10 acre lot surrounded by woods makes it such an enjoyable place to go. It is a Usonian house, but it has unique features such as art glass that was fabricated by the owner, and an integration with the sloping landscape that makes the house seem to disappear into the hillside. Our tour guide was a retired architect who was very knowledgeable about homebuilding. He admitted that he prefers to discuss the architectural merits of the house rather than the life and times of Mr. Wright, which some of the other docents focus on. The house is smaller than it appears from the outside, but it is nonetheless a very intriguing home. I would recommend the house to anyone who has an interest in architecture. I wouldn't bring young children because this is a strictly hands off/ no touching home and you will do a lot of standing and listening. If you don't enjoy standing around while someone explains to you about overhanging roofs or poured concrete floors, you might want to skip this one.

I would recommend seeing this house if you are in the St. Louis area. Our guide was very informed as I believe he had given hundreds of these tours. It starts out with a 17 minute film about the house and some background on Frank Lloyd Wright. Then we spent around 45 minutes going through every room of the house and getting details about how the home owner and the architect communicated. The house has many built in areas and everything was so unique. We were so happy we went.

We visited the House in Ebsworth Park on August 11. The architecture and design are exquisite! The grounds beautiful and secluded. We really appreciated the warmth of our tour guides, Paula and Isabel. The documentary was a terrific beginning and set the tone. The tour and history of the home was wonderful. Thank you.
