• Kipoi - The journey begins in Kipi, a village known for its gardens, situated on a hill at an elevation of 750 meters. The village is renowned for its gardens, bordered by a river adorned with stone bridges.
• Bridge of Plakidas - This is the most famous three-arched stone bridge, known as “Plakida or Kalogeriko,” in the Zagori region. Originally constructed as a wooden bridge, it was rebuilt in stone by Abbot Serafeim in 1814 AD. The bridge measures 54 meters in length, 3.15 meters in width, and reaches a height of 6.7 meters. It links the villages of Kipi, Dilofo, and Koukouli.
• Gefyri Kapetan Arkouda - An easy hiking trail to Dilofo village leads to the single-arched stone bridge “Kapetan Arkoudas” (Captain’s Bear Bridge), constructed in 1806 AD. Initially named “Xeropotamos bridge,” it was renamed after Captain-Bear, a Macedonian leader, was killed by the Ottoman army on August 6, 1906. This bridge connects the villages of Kipi, Dilofo, and Vitsa.
• Kokkori Bridge - Known as “Kokkoris or Noutsos,” this single-arched stone bridge is the most famous in the Zagori area. Built in 1750 AD, it is 35 meters long, 2.5 meters wide, and reaches a height of 13 meters. Historically, it was used to test suspected animal thieves by making them carry a goat across the bridge. If they succeeded or confessed, they were acquitted; otherwise, they faced drowning. This bridge connects Kipi, Dilofo, and Koukouli villages. Nearby, there is an excellent climbing area for advanced climbers.
• Misiou Ancient Stone Bridge - Walking along the riverbanks, one encounters the double-arched stone bridge “Misios,” built in 1748. It connects the villages of Koukouli, Vitsa, and Monodendri, measuring 37 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 10 meters at its highest point. Located at the entrance to the main part of Vikos Gorge, it leads to the stone steps towards Vitsa and Koukouli villages.
• Koukouli - The hike continues to the traditional village of Koukouli via its stone steps. This village, dating back to the 13th century, features numerous traditional houses, an old school complex, arches, fountains, and the Church of the Virgin Mary, one of the finest in the Zagori area. Visitors can enjoy refreshments or coffee before continuing along the stone steps between Koukouli and Kipi villages.
• Lazaridi Bridge - The final bridge on the hiking tour is the single-arched stone bridge of Lazaridis, built in 1753. It is located next to another climbing area for advanced climbers. Named after a local trader who owned a watermill nearby, this bridge marks the end of the first part of Vikos Gorge, offering views of the cliffs beside the river. It connects the villages of Kapesovo and Koukouli with Kipi.

• Monument Zagorian Women Pindos - The last stop is to view the statue honoring Zagorian women for their support of the armed forces during World War II. The monument stands 6 meters tall and weighs 2 tons.

Zagori is one of the most beautiful mountainous regions in Greece and is famous for the traditional villages and the stone bridges of the area. Generally, the inaccessibility of the area combined with many rivers and streams, especially during the winter months, required in the past the construction of bridges.
